Tarun Dey
Tarun Dey is a retired Indian football defender who represented India at the 1984 Asian Cup. He also played for East Bengal Club and was awarded the Man of the tournament of the 1985 Coca-Cola Cup. Dey is also a qualified AFC coach and managed East Bengal youth team as assistant coach. Club career He joined Calcutta Football League club East Bengal in 1982 and captained the team in 1986–87. They later won Federation Cup and qualified for 1985–86 Asian Club Championship. As part of Central Asia Zone (tournament was named "Coca-Cola Cup"), the club managed by legendary footballer and Olympian P. K. Banerjee, defeated New Road Team by 7–0, Abahani Krira Chakra 1–0, Club Valencia 9–0. Dey was awarded the Man of the Tournament award. Rovers Cup
The Rovers Cup was an annual football tournament held in India, organized by the Western India Football Association. Incorporated in 1890, it was the third oldest tournament in India after Trades Cup. History Rovers Cup was incorporated by some British football enthusiasts in Bombay, Bombay Presidency, in 1890, as a form of amusement. After the foundation of Bombay Football Association (BFA) in 1902, the tournament became well organized. Patronised by Justice Russell, the tournament was firstly opened to British teams. Later in 1911, Western India Football Association was founded as a result of merger between BFA and Rovers Cup Committee. After justice Russel became president and P. R. Cadell became vice-president of WIFA, Indian clubs were given opportunity to participate, and Bengal United (a squad formed with Indian soldiers serving in British battalions) became first Indian team to compete. East Bengal FC is an Indian association football club based in Kolkata, West Bengal, which competes in the top tier of Indian football. The club was formed in August 1920 when the Jorabagan Club's vice-president, Suresh Chandra Chaudhuri, resigned. He did so after the club sent out their starting eleven with the notable exclusion of defender Sailesh Bose, who was dropped from the squad for undisclosed reasons when they were about to face Mohun Bagan in the Coochbehar Cup semi-final on 28 July 1920. Football has been a sport at the South Asian Games since it commenced in 1984. Since the 2004 South Asian Games, the age limit for men's teams is under 23, plus up to three overaged players for each squad, which is the same as the age limit in football competitions at the Summer Olympics and Asian Games. Nepal and Pakistan are currently the most successful countries in the Men's event with 4 Gold Medals each while India is the most successful in Women's event with 3 Gold Medals. Sait Nagjee Football Tournament
The Sait Nagjee All India Football Tournament was an invitational Association football, football tournament held in Kozhikode, Kerala. The tournament was very popular from the beginning and attracted large crowd since 1952. The tournament was played until 1995, though with stoppages a couple of times. In 1995, the tournament was won by JCT F.C., JCT Mills. Since then, there was a gap of 21 year during which the tournament was not held. The tournament was revived again in 2016 Sait Nagjee Trophy, 2016 with clubs from different parts of the world and Argentina national under-23 football team. Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho was the brand ambassador for the tournament.
