TAROM (; legally ''Compania Națională de Transporturi Aeriene Române TAROM S.A.'') is the flag carrier and oldest currently operating airline of Romania, based in Otopeni near Bucharest. Its headquarters and its main hub are at Henri Coandă International Airport. It is currently the first and largest airline operating in Romania based on international destinations, international flights and the second-largest measured by fleet size and passengers carried. The brand name is an acronym of the (Romanian Air Transport). Over ninety-seven percent (97.22%) of TAROM is owned by the Romanian Government (Ministry of Transport). Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport () is Romania's List of the busiest airports in Romania, busiest international airport, located in Otopeni, north of Bucharest's city centre. It is currently one of the two airports serving the capital of Romania. The other is the smaller Aurel Vlaicu International Airport, Aurel Vlaicu Airport, used mostly for private flights. The airport covers 605 hectares (1,495 acres) of land and contains two parallel runways, both 3,500 meters long. Otopeni () is a town in Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania, neighbouring the north of Bucharest along the DN1 road to Ploiești. It has 21,750 inhabitants, of which 99.0% are ethnic Romanians. CFRNA ("The French-Romanian Company for Air Transport"; ; ) was a French Third Republic, French–Kingdom of Romania, Romanian airline, Portal:Aviation/Historical anniversaries/January in aviation/January 1, founded on 1 January 1920. The Aircraft Manufacturing Company Limited (Airco) was an early British aircraft manufacturer.
