Tarlan Rafiee
Tarlan Rafiee (born 1980; ) is an Iranian visual artist, and curator. She is known for her international contributions to Iranian modern and contemporary art. Rafiee is regarded as an influential female figure in contemporary Iranian art. Her work, ranging across painting, printmaking, installation, and sculpture, reflects pressing social concerns, particularly issues surrounding women in the Middle East. In addition to her artistic practice, she is also recognised as an international curator and researcher, with a primary focus on the role of women in Iran’s cultural and artistic history. Career Artwork Rafiee embarked on her career as an artist in 2001, when she participated in a group exhibition in Tehran.
