Target (Australian TV Series)
''Target'' was an Australian magazine style television show broadcast by the ABC. It was aimed at a youth audience and aired in an early evening time slot. It was compered at different times by David Champtaloup, Anne Stone, Bob Watson, Cathy Scott, Brendon Lunney, Kerry Cook, Jane Fennell, Julian Rocket and Mark Holden. It ran from 1 July 1974 to May 20, 1976. ABC (Australian TV Channel)
ABC TV, formerly known as ABC1, is an Australian national public television network. It is owned and operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and is the flagship ABC Television network. The headquarters of the ABC TV channel and the ABC are in Ultimo, an inner-city suburb of Sydney, New South Wales. The network began operating on 5 November 1956 as the ABC National Television Service, starting in Sydney, followed by Melbourne, with other stations being established in state capitals and regional areas in the following years. In the 1960s and 1970s, the network was also referred to as ABC National Television, or ABC Television. Until the introduction of digital television in 2001, the network was the only domestic television service broadcast by the ABC. On 8 February 2008, the channel was renamed ABC1, before being rebranded as ABC TV on 20 July 2014. Jane Fennell
Jane Fennell is a former Australian TV presenter, most notably on the children's television program '' Mr. Squiggle and Friends''. She is the daughter of actor Willie Fennell and grew up in Sydney, Australia. She initially worked on ''Mr. Squiggle'' as a production assistant and was host "Miss Jane" from 1975 to 1986. A car accident left her with serious facial injuries that ended her on-screen career. During her recovery she became close to John Ewart Jon Ewart (06th May 1996) is a British television and film actor. Ewart attended the prestigious National Youth Theatre, Identity School of Acting and has appeared in many successful Television shows. Mark Holden
Mark Ronald Holden (born 27 April 1954) is an Australian singer, actor, TV personality, record producer, songwriter, and barrister. He was a pop star in the 1970s and had four top 20 hit singles, "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again" (May 1976), " I Wanna Make You My Lady" (September), " Last Romance" (November) and "Reach Out for the One Who Loves You" (October 1977). Holden regularly appeared on national pop music show, '' Countdown''. Holden is remembered for his clean-cut image, his white dinner suit and his penchant for handing out carnations to girls on the set of the popular television show ''Countdown'' – he was nicknamed "The Carnation Kid". In the 1980s he worked as a songwriter in Los Angeles providing material recorded by Meat Loaf, Joe Cocker, Gladys Knight, Bob Welch and Steve Jones.
