Targa Wrest Point
Targa Wrest Point is a tarmac-based rally event held on the island state of Tasmania, Australia, annually. The inaugural event was 2009. The event has a short course design by Stuart Benson of approximately 200 competitive kilometres covered in two days over sixteen closed road competitive rally stages. Datsun Sports
The Datsun Sports (called Datsun Fairlady in the Japanese and Australian markets), was a series of roadsters produced by Nissan in the 1960s. The series was a predecessor to the Z-car in the Fairlady line, and offered a competitor to the European MG, Triumph, Fiat and Alfa Romeo sports cars. Beginning with the 1959 S211, the line was built in two generations: the first generation was largely handbuilt in small numbers, while the second generation (310 series) was series produced. The second generation first appeared in 1961 and continued through 1970 with the SP311 and SR311 lines. Targa Canada West
Targa Canada West is a tarmac-based rally race in British Columbia, Canada. It takes place on closed public roads in host communities, and historically stems from the popular Targa Florio and later the Mille Miglia. Cars compete against the clock on paved roads: the cars start at 30 second intervals on 'special' or 'competition stages' of 10 to 25 km each (these roads are safely and temporarily closed to the public). In between competition stages, the vehicles 'transit' on public roads and conform to regular road rules. The events are open to street-legal sports cars of all makes, models and vintages – with some exceptions (e.g. convertibles require a hard top and roll bar). Regular street-legal cars can enter in Class 1 & 2 – after which additional safety equipment is required (roll cage, etc.) in higher speed classes 3 to 6. Targa Newfoundland is a tarmac-based rally race in Newfoundland. It is an annual event covering over a seven-day period in September of each year on eastern and central parts of Newfoundland. The event allows the owners of historic, classic and modern sporting motor vehicles to drive them the way they were designed to be driven in a rally competition. In the event each vehicle competes against itself on a handicap basis as well as against other vehicles. Targa West was a rally event held in and around Perth, Western Australia between 2005 and 2021. The event takes its name from the Targa Florio, a former motoring event held on the island of Sicily, as well as more recent Australian events including Targa Tasmania, now defunct East Coast Targa, Targa New Zealand and Classic Adelaide. Targa Florio
The Targa Florio was a public road endurance automobile race held in the mountains of Sicily near the island's capital of Palermo. Founded in 1906, it was the oldest sports car racing event, part of the World Sportscar Championship between 1955 and 1973. While the first races consisted of a whole tour of the island, the track length in the race's last decades was limited to the of the Circuito Piccolo delle Madonie, which was lapped 11 times. After 1973, it was a national sports car event until it was discontinued in 1977 due to safety concerns. The Targa New Zealand is a tarmac rally held annually on public roads typically throughout the North Island of New Zealand. The main Targa each year begins in the last week of October and is a week-long event which covers around 1500 km of touring and 750 km of closed special stages. Smaller one- or two-day events are usually run during the year and have been variously titled Targa Bambina, Targa Dash, Targa Rotorua, Targa Tauranga and Targa Hawkes Bay. In 2014 Targa New Zealand for the first time was held in the South Island of New Zealand.
