Its diminutive, ''target'', came to mean an object to be aimed at in the 18th century. The term refers to various types of shields used by infantry troops from the 13th to 16th centuries, or earlier. 	House Of Targ House of Targ is a live music venue, arcade and pierogi restaurant in Ottawa, Canada. The venue opened April 17, 2014 with a live performance from Toronto band PUP. Owners Paul Granger, Mark McHale and Kevin Berger acquired a 10-year lease on the 1077 Bank street location. The 4,000 sq. ft. basement venue formerly housed the Bayou Blues bar, The New Bayou and The Underground. 	Târg A târg was a medieval Romanian periodic fair or a market town. Originally established on the places where periodic fairs were held, some of them (but not all) became permanent settlements, as craftsmen built their workshops near the place where the fair was held.
