Tarek Shahin
Tarek Shahin (born 1982) is an Egyptian cartoonist and author. He is best known as the author and illustrator of the comic strip 'Al Khan', which first appeared on the pages of The Daily News Egypt newspaper in 2008, and continues to run independently on the series' website. Shahin's work has been recognised for its candid commentary on contemporary Egyptian society and character-driven themes. In 2017, 'Redemption: An Al Khan Series,' a three-part story, was launched, set in the aftermath of the Six-Day War The Six-Day War (, ; ar, النكسة, , or ) or June War, also known as the 1967 Arab–Israeli War or Third Arab–Israeli War, was fought between Israel and a coalition of Arab world, Arab states (primarily United Arab Republic, Egypt, S ... in 1967. The Daily News Egypt
''Daily News Egypt'' (''DNE'') is an English-language daily Egyptian newspaper established in 2005 and relaunched in June 2012. Under former owner Egyptian Media Services, it was distributed with the ''International Herald Tribune'' as a supplement. According to its website, the paper carries “business, political and cultural news and analysis”. The newspaper has claimed to be independent and not subject to government censorship. Six-Day War
The Six-Day War (, ; ar, النكسة, , or ) or June War, also known as the 1967 Arab–Israeli War or Third Arab–Israeli War, was fought between Israel and a coalition of Arab world, Arab states (primarily United Arab Republic, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan) from 5 to 10 June 1967.
