Tar Pit (comics)
Tar Pit (Joseph "Joey" V. Monteleone) is a supervillain in the DC Comics universe, primarily as an enemy of the Flash (Wally West). Created by Geoff Johns and Scott Kolins, the character first appeared in ''The Flash (comic book), The Flash'' (vol. 2) #174 (July 2001). Tar Pit made his live-action debut on the The Flash season 2, second season of the Arrowverse series ''The Flash (2014 TV series), The Flash'', portrayed by Marco Grazzini. Josh Chambers portrayed the character in the The Flash season 9, ninth season. Fictional character biography The younger brother of drug lord Jack Monteleone, Joey Monteleone was arrested for armed robbery. While serving time at Iron Heights Penitentiary, Joey discovered he was a metahuman with the ability to inhabit inanimate objects. ''The Flash'' is an ongoing American comic book series featuring the DC Comics superhero of the Flash (comics), same name. Throughout its publication, the series has primarily focused on two characters who have worn the mantle of the Flash: Barry Allen, the second Flash (1959–1985, 2010–2020), and Wally West, the third Flash (1987–2008, 2021–present). The series began at issue #105, picking up its issue numbering from the anthology series ''Flash Comics'' which had featured Flash (Jay Garrick), Jay Garrick as the first Flash. Although the Flash is a mainstay in the DC Comics stable, the series has been canceled and restarted several times. The ninth and final season of the American superhero television series ''The Flash'', which is based on the DC Comics character Barry Allen / Flash, premiered on February 8, 2023. The season follows Barry facing against his nemeses Red Death, Bloodwork, and Cobalt Blue. It is set in the Arrowverse, sharing continuity with the other television series of the universe. The New 52
The New 52 was the 2011 revamp and relaunch by DC Comics of its entire Line (comics), line of ongoing monthly superhero American comic books, comic books. Following the conclusion of the "Flashpoint (comics), Flashpoint" Fictional crossover, crossover storyline, DC cancelled all its existing titles and debuted 52 new series in September 2011. The Flash is the name of several superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics.
