Tapi Carpets & Floors Limited (trading as Tapi Carpets and Tapi) is a British retailer based in Orpington who specialises in carpets and floors. History Tapi Carpets was founded in 2015 by Carpetright founder Lord Harris (businessman), Lord Harris and his son Martin as a competitor to the chain. In July 2024, Martin Harris stepped down as CEO, leaving the company with no CEO for the time being. On 22 July 2024, Tapi Carpets brought the struggling Carpetright in a Pre-packaged insolvency, pre-packaged insolvency deal, a transaction that is often associated with the new company shedding its commitments to staff and creditors. Philip Charles Harris, Baron Harris of Peckham (born 15 September 1942), is an English businessman and politician. A prominent Conservative Party donor, Harris is a member of the House of Lords. Orpington is a town and area in south east London, England, within the London Borough of Bromley. It is 13.4 miles (21.6 km) south east of Charing Cross.
