Taoyuan Mass Rapid Transit System
The Taoyuan Metro (formerly Taoyuan Rail Transit and officially Taoyuan Mass Rapid Transit System) is a rapid transit system serving Taoyuan City, as well as parts of New Taipei City and Taipei City, in Taiwan. The most recently proposed network includes 11 lines and extensions, of which 2 are now under construction. The Taoyuan Airport MRT (Taipei Main Station - Huanbei) is the only line currently in operation. The system opened with the opening of the first line in the system, Taoyuan Airport MRT, for trial passenger service on 2 February 2017 and revenue passenger service on 2 March 2017. Though no longer as dominant as it once was, rail transport is an extremely important form of transportation in Taiwan due to high population density, especially along the densely populated western corridor. Huilong Metro Station
The Taipei Metro Huilong station is a station on the Zhonghe–Xinlu line located in Xinzhuang, New Taipei City, and the section of Guishan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. It is the western terminus of the Xinzhuang Line and opened on June 29, 2013. It will be a terminus on the Wanda–Zhonghe–Shulin line in June 2031. Taoyuan Railway Station
Taoyuan () is a railway station in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, Taoyuan, Taiwan served by Taiwan Railway. The station was List of busiest railway stations in Taiwan, the second busiest station in 2020 in terms of passenger volume, behind Taipei station, Taipei. The Taoyuan MRT is planned to be extended to Taoyuan Railway Station. Structure There is one island platform and two side platforms. Zhongli Railway Station
Zhongli () is a railway station in Taoyuan, Taiwan served by Taiwan Railways Administration. It is the third-busiest station in Taiwan's rail network. It is also a planned terminus for Taoyuan Airport MRT of the Taoyuan Metro, scheduled for completion in 2028. This station is currently at ground level and construction is ongoing to replace it underground as a part of Taoyuan Metropolitan Area Railway Underground Project which is scheduled to be completed in September 2030. Since the 1980s, ground level railway facilities in urban areas have been seen as obstacles to road traffic and local development.
