Tanvir Ahmed (admiral)
Tanveer Ahmed (Urdu:تنوير احمد), is a retired Two-star admiral, two-star rank admiral in the Pakistan Navy and an anti-corruption activist, who is notable for leading investigative probes on Karachi affair, Agosta submarine scandal and arresting Adm. Mansurul Haq, the former Chief of Naval Staff (Pakistan), chief of naval staff of the Pakistan Navy from 1994 to 1997. He is currently serving as an active Rotarian with Rotary Club of Pakistan chapter. Biography Tanveer Ahmad was born in 1943 in Karachi, Sind, British Indian Empire, India, and attended the famed D. J. Sindh Government Science College, DJ Science College in 1961 where he graduated with diploma in 1963. He was educated with Saleem Mandviwalla who was his classmate. Senator Saleem H. Mandviwalla (born 25 January 1959) is a Pakistani politician who served as deputy chairman of the Senate of Pakistan from March 2018 to March 2021. He was previously the president of the Board of Investment and Minister of State for Investment of Pakistan from October 2008 to May 2013. Mansurul Haq (16 October 1937 – 21 February 2018) was a senior officer of the Pakistan Navy who was forcibly retired from his service in 1997 on the allegations leveled against him in the corruption and kickbacks resulting during the technology transfer of submarines from France. He was stripped of his rank, awards, and other perks and privileges. Driving a policy on anti-corruption by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the Naval Intelligence exposed his role that led to his resignation on 1 May 1997.
