Tanner High School
Tanner High School is a K–12 school located in Tanner, Alabama. It is a part of the Limestone County School District. Athletics On December 7, 2012, the Tanner Rattlers Football team made history by winning its first 2A Championship. The Rattlers beat the Washington County Bulldogs 28 to 14. On December 6, 2013, the Rattlers won their second 2A state championship in a rematch against the Washington County Bulldogs 21 to 13. Oscar Bonds is the current head coach. The school's basketball boys and girls teams both won state titles in 1985 and 2011 and are the only school in Alabama to do so. The current head coaches are Dale Taylor (boys) and Jordan Paul (girls). ''Chionoecetes'' is a genus of crabs that live in the northern Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Common names for crabs in this genus include "queen crab" (in Canada) and " spider crab". The generic name ''Chionoecetes'' means snow (, ') inhabitant (, '); ' means shepherd, and '' C. opilio'' is the primary species referred to as snow crab. Marketing strategies, however, employ snow crab for any species in the genus ''Chionoecetes''. The name "snow crab" refers to their being commonly found in cold northern oceans. The Tanner Trail is a hiking trail located on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park, located in the U.S. state of Arizona. The trailhead is located at Lipan Point, a prominent lookout located to the east of the Grand Canyon Village, and the trail ends at the Colorado River at Tanner Rapids. History The Tanner Trail started out as an ancient Anasazi and Hopi route to the Colorado River. Most believe today that Tanner Canyon is where García López de Cárdenas became the first European to encounter the Grand Canyon. The trail is named after Seth Tanner, a 19th-century prospector who improved the trail so he would have better access to his copper mine. It is also believed that Tanner Canyon was once used as an old horse thief trail where buried gold known as Long Tom's treasure is located. Tanner Moor is one of the largest moorlands in Austria with a surface area of 120 hectares. Tanner Moor is a Natura 2000 ecologically protected area located on a high granite plateau in the Freistadt district, Mühlviertel, Upper Austria at an average elevation of 900 m. The moorland is watered exclusively by rain and is almost completely covered with pine trees. There are gaps, however, where typical moorland plants such as Bog-rosemary, Cotton-grass and the Ericaceae, for example upland berries (Vaccinium) and heather (Calluna), flourish. The central area of the moorland has never been used economically, but some of the areas around the edges were planted in spruce in the Twentieth Century.
