Ayumi Tanimoto
born 4 August 1981, in Anjo, Aichi, Anjo, Aichi Prefecture, Aichi, is a Japanese judoka. She was coached by Toshihiko Koga, who is a gold medalist at the 1992 Summer Olympics, Barcelona Olympics and a silver medalist at the 1996 Summer Olympics, Atlanta Olympics Men's Judo. Tanimoto won the Women's 63 kg category gold medal at the Judo at the 2004 Summer Olympics – Women's 63 kg, Athens Olympics in 2004 and at the Judo at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's 63 kg, Beijing Olympics in 2008. Kiyoshi Tanimoto
was a Japanese Methodist minister famous for his humanitarian work for the Hiroshima Maidens. Tanimoto was a U.S educated Methodist minister and moved to Hiroshima with his wife during the midst of World War II. He survived the Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and was one of the six Hiroshima survivors whose experiences of the bomb and later life are portrayed in John Hersey's book '' Hiroshima''. The 1985 edition contains an updated chapter. Biography Kiyoshi Tanimoto was born on June 27, 1909 in Sakaide, Kagawa Prefecture on June 27, 1909, and was the youngest of eight children. Kiyoshi was raised Buddhist, but was introduced to Christianity by Bertha Starkey during a visit to Korea. Larry Tanimoto
Larry Sunao Tanimoto (January 5, 1945 – February 27, 2025) was an American administrator and politician. Tanimoto became the Mayor of Hawaii County in 1990 following the death of Mayor Bernard Akana. Tanimoto became the managing director of Mayor Bernard Akana's administration following the departure of Akana's previous director, Susan Labrenz. Mayor Akana died of stomach cancer on April 12, 1990, at the age of 70. Tanimoto became the interim Mayor of Hawaii upon Akana's passing. He held the mayoral office for eight months until a special election could be held to fill the remainder of Akana's unexpired term. Democrat Lorraine Inouye won the special election to succeed Akana and Tanimoto in 1990. She defeated fellow Democrat Stephen K. Yamashiro by just 76 votes in the special election. is a Japanese politician who was the governor of Ishikawa Prefecture between 1994 and 2022, serving seven terms in total. Early life and political career Tanimoto was born in April 16, 1945. He graduated from Kyoto University Faculty of Law in March 1968 and joined the Ministry of Home Affairs (now part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications) in April.
