Tanguy Veys
Tanguy Veys (born 28 March 1972) is a Belgian retired politician formerly of the Vlaams Blok and then Vlaams Belang party. Veys served as national president of the ''Vlaams Blok Jongren'' the former youth-wing of the Vlaams Blok party in 1995. He was also a spokesman for the Catholic-advocacy group ''Pro Vita'' in Ghent. Before entering politics, he worked as an advisor to Argenta bank. Veys was elected to the Chamber of Representatives during the 2010 Belgian federal election for the West Flanders constituency. At the same time, he was elected as a municipal councilor in Blankenberge. In 2011, he took part in the Emirdağ needs you'' campaign with fellow VB politician Johan Deckmyn in which he visited Emirdağ, Turkey and met with local politicians there as part of a campaign to encourage people of Turkish origin living in Ghent to emigrate back to Turkey. ''Het Nieuwsblad'' (; en, The Newspaper) is a Flemish newspaper that mainly focusses on "a broad view" regarding politics, culture, economics, lifestyle, society and sports. History and profile In 1929, ''Het Nieuwsblad'' was published by ''De Standaard'' for the first time. In 1939, the sports paper ''Sportwereld'' (established in 1912) was purchased by De Standaard and turned into a daily supplement to their two main newspapers, "De Standaard" and "Het Nieuwsblad". Emirdağ is a town and district of Afyonkarahisar Province in Turkey, between the city of Afyon and Eskişehir. The district covers an area of 2,009 km2, and the population (2014) is 38,269 of which 19,093 live in the town of Emirdağ itself. The mayor is Cengiz Pala ( AKP). ''Vlaams Blok'' ( en, Flemish Block, or VB) was the name of a Belgian far-right and secessionist political party with an anti-immigration platform.Erk, 2005, pp. 493-502.
