Dru Hill
Dru Hill is an American R&B boy band, whose repertoire included soul, hip hop soul and gospel music. The group was founded in Baltimore in 1992 by Tamir "Nokio the N-Tity" Ruffin, and as of 2023, is still active. Dru Hill recorded seven top 40 hits, and is best known for the R&B number-one hits " In My Bed", " Never Make a Promise" and " How Deep Is Your Love". Its original members were lead singer Mark "Sisqó" Andrews, Tamir "Nokio" Ruffin, Larry "Jazz" Anthony and James "Woody" Green. The group achieved popularity in the late 1990s. Shmuel Moshe Tamir (; born Shmuel Katznelson; 10 March 1923 – 29 June 1987) was a prominent Israeli independence fighter, lawyer, and Knesset member. After a successful career fighting the British, he entered the Knesset from 1965 to 1980, rising to become Minister of Justice in the government of Menachem Begin from 1977 until 1980. Tamir was an ardent anti-Nazi leading proactive legal cases to prosecute perpetrators of the Holocaust and war criminals. Avraham Tamir (; 9 November 192420 December 2010), also known as Abrasha or Avrasha Tamir, was an Israeli soldier and statesman. Born in the Mandatory Palestine, Mandate of Palestine, Tamir joined the British Army as part of the Jewish Brigade, serving in World War II, and became a commanding officer in the Haganah. This gave him a command in the 1947–1949 Palestine war, Israel-Palestine war, where he defended the Etzion bloc during the Kfar Etzion massacre, ultimately being captured wounded. When Israel was founded, he joined the Israel Defense Forces, rising to the rank of major general (''Aluf''). During his time with the IDF he served in the Yom Kippur War and 1982 Lebanon War as well as several Cold War conflicts in the Middle East. Avital Tamir () is an Israeli musician best known as the former lead singer for metal band Betzefer and for his experimental pop trio On Shoulders of Giants. He was also briefly a member of fellow Betzefer bandmate Matan Cohen's death metal band Nail Within.
