For high school he attended Yeshivat Bnei Akiva Netiv Meir in Jerusalem. Afterwards, he began studying at Yeshivat Har Etzion in Alon Shevut, where he was a student of Rabbi Yehuda Amital and Rabbi Aharon Lichtenstein. He studied there for nine years. Alon Shvut () is an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, established in June 1970 over lands confiscated from the nearby Palestinian town of Khirbet Beit Zakariyyah. The Gemara (also transliterated Gemarah, or in Yiddish Gemore) is an essential component of the Talmud, comprising a collection of rabbinical analyses and commentaries on the Mishnah and presented in 63 books. The term is derived from the Aramaic word and rooted in the Semitic word ג-מ-ר (gamar), which means "to finish" or "complete". Lifshitz College of Education ("Michlelet Lifshitz" - מכללת ליפשיץ - המכללה האקדמית הדתית לחינוך) is a religious teacher training college in Jerusalem, Israel. The school credo is "integrating modernity and Jewish life." Klausenburg, also known as Sanz-Klausenburg, is a Hasidic dynasty that originated in the Transylvanian city of Cluj-Napoca (, ), today in Romania. At the behest of Rabbi Yekusiel Yehudah Halberstam, Klausenburger Rebbe from 1927 to 1994, the movement was split into two separate movements after his death, headed by his two sons. Yekusiel Yehudah Halberstam (; January 10, 1905 – June 18, 1994) was a rebbe (hereditary rabbinical leader) of the Hasidic Judaism, Hasidic dynasty of Klausenburg (Hasidic dynasty), Sanz-Klausenburg. Early life Halberstam was born in 1905 in Rudnik nad Sanem, Rudnik, Poland. He was a great-grandson (in the direct male line) of Chaim Halberstam, founder of the Sanz hasidic dynasty. When he was 13 his father, Tzvi Hirsch Halberstam, the rabbi of Rudnik, died. In 1925, Halberstam married his second cousin, Pessel Teitelbaum. She was the daughter of Chaim Tzvi Teitelbaum and therefore the sister of Moshe Teitelbaum (Satmar), Moshe Teitelbaum as well as the niece of Joel Teitelbaum.
