Tami Heide
Tami Heide, "The girl with two first names," is an American radio personality. Heide started out as a disc jockey on Emerson College station WERS in Boston, Massachusetts in 1977. She later served as music director of Massachusetts Institute of Technology station WMBR. Heide worked at WBCN in Boston from 1984 to 1991, when she segued to KROQ-FM in Los Angeles, California. In 2005, she moved to KCBS-FM (Jack FM) in Los Angeles, where she was responsible for writing much of the dialogue for the on-air voice. She also hosted the on air daily “Jacktivities“. Heide left KCBS-FM in November 2016. A disc jockey, more commonly abbreviated as DJ, is a person who plays recorded music for an audience. KTWV (94.7 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Los Angeles, California, and broadcasting to the Greater Los Angeles area. Wilma Scott Heide
Wilma Louise Scott Heide (February 26, 1921 – May 8, 1985) was an American author, nurse, and social activist. Born in Ferndale, Pennsylvania, Heide trained as a registered nurse in psychiatry at Brooklyn State Hospital. She began her career at a mental hospital in Torrance, Pennsylvania, where she imposed changes to rectify the persistent mistreatment of staff and patients. She received her bachelor's and masters' degrees in sociology from the University of Pittsburgh and was involved in a number of activist groups in the city. She became more heavily involved in the feminist movement in 1967, when she joined the National Organization for Women (NOW) and became a founding member of the Pittsburgh chapter. KCBS-FM (93.1 FM) is a commercial radio station in Los Angeles, California, serving Greater Los Angeles. It is owned by Audacy, Inc., and broadcasts an adult hits music format branded "93.1 Jack FM". Unlike most radio stations airing the Jack FM formula, KCBS-FM runs a fairly focused playlist of popular classic rock and modern rock tracks. Currently, the station has no DJs.
