Tambo is a rural town and Suburbs and localities (Australia), locality in the Blackall-Tambo Region, Queensland, Australia. Cattle and tourism are the major industries of the town. Oliver Tambo
Oliver Reginald Kaizana Tambo (27 October 191724 April 1993) was a South African anti-apartheid politician and activist who served as President of the African National Congress (ANC) from 1967 to 1991. Biography Childhood Oliver Tambo was born on 27 October 1917 in the village of Nkantolo in Bizana; eastern Pondoland in what is now the Eastern Cape. Most of the people in the village were farmers. His father, Mzimeni Tambo, was the son of a farmer and an assistant salesperson at a local trading store. Mzimeni had four wives and ten children, all of whom were literate. Oliver's mother, Mzimeni's third wife, was called Julia. Education Tambo graduated high school in 1938 as one of the top students. Dali Tambo (born 1 March 1959) is a South African media personality best known as the presenter of the SABC television talk-show ''People of the South'' and as the founder of the anti-apartheid organisation Artists Against Apartheid. Early life Dali Tambo is the son of Oliver Tambo, former president of the African National Congress, and Adelaide Tambo. Tambo attended Lancing College in West Sussex, United Kingdom, before going on to study at the American University and the Sorbonne in Paris, France, where he acquired a bachelor's degree in International Affairs and Political Science. Dali Tambo is married to Rachael Tambo and they have four children; their oldest son is named after his father (O. R. Tambo). Tambo Island
The Tambo Island is an island in the middle of the Pontevedra bay, in Spain. It belongs to the municipality of Poio, from which it is separated by a 1.1 km long but shallow channel. Its surface area is 0.28 km2, with a maximum height of 80 m, although its entire central part is over 50 metres high. Its perimeter reaches 4 km. History Among the various prehistoric remains on the island is a castro, which occupies the entire central part of the island and is listed by the General Direction of Heritage with the code GA36041043. Adelaide Tambo
Adelaide Frances Tambo (née Tshukudu; 18 July 1929 – 31 January 2007) was a South African anti-apartheid activist and former political exile. She was involved in South African politics for five decades and was married to Oliver Tambo, president of the African National Congress (ANC), from 1967 to 1991. She was well-known for her role in the struggle against apartheid. Early career Born on 18 July 1929 in Top Location as Adelaide Frances Tshukudu, she was affectionately known as ''Mama Tambo'' in South Africa. At the age of 10, following a raid by the police on a riot in Top Location where a police officer was killed, Adelaide's ailing grandfather, aged 82, was among those arrested and taken to the town square. The Shire of Tambo was a local government area located in central Queensland south-east of the town of Blackall. It covered an area of , and existed as a local government entity from 1881 until 2008, when it amalgamated with neighbouring Shire of Blackall to form the Blackall-Tambo Region. The council consisted of a Mayor and 9 elected councillors. No wards or electoral divisions existed. The Barcoo River travels through the shire's former area on its way to Cooper Creek and eventually Lake Eyre. Like much of the west, sheep became the mainstay of the economy. Tambo () is a coastal barangay located in Parañaque, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is situated south of Baclaran, adjoining the Ninoy Aquino International Airport complex to the east. The approximate boundaries are T. Alonzo Street and Asean Avenue in Baclaran to the north, McDonough Road and Don Galo to the south, with the Parañaque River, Pildera Street in Pasay, and Cut-Cut Creek to the east, and Manila Bay to the west.
