Tamara Milosevic
Tamara Milosevic (born 1976) is a German documentary filmmaker of Serbian descent. Life and work Tamara Milosevic was born in Frankfurt am Main. In 2000, she began studying at the Film Academy Baden-Wuerttemberg. At first she focused on animation, but then switched to documentary filmmaking, graduating in 2005. That same year, Milosevic came out with her documentary ''Wrong Time, Wrong Place'' which won two awards. The film focuses on an unsolved murder in Germany. Her 2008 documentary ''El futuro del ayer'' takes a look at everyday life in Cuba. Shot in 2009, the film ''Überall nur nicht hier'' examines a town in post war Bosnia. Balkan Black Box Festival
Balkan Black Box is the only festival of culture and art in Germany which focuses on Southeastern Europe. Between 2001 and 2008, the festival was held annually in Berlin, before being discontinued in 2009 due to declining interest and lack of funding. Over the course of one week, the festival presents films, exhibitions, literature, theatre, music and discussions from and about Southeastern Europe. Concept The festival aims to present the culture and art of the post-socialist countries of the Balkans. That is especially because these societies are still a "black box" for Western Europe. DOK Leipzig is a documentary film festival that takes place every October in Leipzig, Germany. It is an international film festival for documentary and animated film founded in 1955 under the name "1st All-German Leipzig Festival of Cultural and Documentary Films" and was the first independent film festival in East Germany. In 1995 a separate competition for animated films was added and in 2004 a film industry program, DOK Industry, was initiated to allow a networking and contact platform for industry professionals. Animation is a filmmaking technique whereby still images are manipulated to create moving images.
