"Tamale" is a song by the American rapper and producer Tyler, the Creator as the seventeenth and penultimate track from his third studio album ''Wolf'' (2013). The song was solely written and produced by Tyler, the Creator, and was released with the rest of its parent album on April 2, 2013. Its music video was released on October 8, 2013. Composition The song contains "aggressive percussion which bounces around", which also describes Tyler, the Creator's flow on the track. The lyrics involve Tyler rapping about controversial topics, such as using euphemisms for private body parts, masturbation, and calling film director Spike Lee a racial slur. The hook features shrill vocals from actress Tallulah Willis, which has been considered an imitation of the British rapper M.I.A. Tyler Gregory Okonma (born March 6, 1991), known professionally as Tyler, the Creator, is an American rapper and record producer. He is one of the founding members of the music collective Odd Future. Okonma self-released his debut mixtape ''Bastard'' in 2009 and rapidly gained attention among the online music press for his horrorcore-influenced sound and violent, transgressive lyrical content. His debut studio album ''Goblin'' (2011), brought him mainstream exposure aided by the popularity of the single "Yonkers" and its accompanying music video. During this period, Odd Future gained rapid popularity and Okonma faced controversy over his lyrics. Whiteface is a type of performance in which a person wears theatrical makeup in order to make themselves look like a white person. The term is a reversal of the form of performance known as blackface, in which makeup was used by a performer to make themselves look like a black person, usually to portray a stereotype.
