''Achille Talon'' is a Franco-Belgian comics series featuring an eponymous main character, created by Greg (the pseudonym of Michel Regnier). Starting publication in the Franco-Belgian comics magazine ''Pilote'' in 1963, the series presents the comic misadventures of an anti-hero. The name derives from ''"talon d'Achille"'', the French term for an "Achilles' heel". Publication history The first ''Achille Talon'' gag was published in ''Pilote'' on November 7, 1963. After several years of gags and increasing popularity, ''Achille Talon'' became a dedicated magazine of its own, starting publication on October 1, 1975. The Court of Owls is a criminal organization and secret society appearing in DC Comics continuity as adversaries of the superhero Batman. The Court is described as an organization of the wealthiest and most influential citizens of the city of Gotham, having existed since the city's founding and completely unknown among its general population outside of an urban legend centered around their reputation for grisly assassinations carried out by indoctrinated agents known as Talons. Talon is an inverted roller coaster located at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard and designed by Werner Stengel at a cost of $13 million, Talon opened to the public in 2001 and was marketed as the tallest and longest inverted coaster in the Northeast. History On April 28, 2000, Dorney Park announced that a four inversion inverted roller coaster would be built for the 2001 season. The Sackett family is a fictional American family featured in a number of western novels, short stories and historical novels by American writer Louis L'Amour. A talon (; French for "heel") in card games is a stack of undealt cards that is placed on the table to be used during the actual game. Depending on the game or region, they may also be referred to as the blind, kitty, skat, stock, tapp or widow (US). Description In 1909, Meyers Lexicon described the talon as ''"the cards left over after dealing..."'' In games of chance, such as Pharo it is ''"the stock of cards which the banker draws on"''. Julie Kagawa (born October 12, 1982) is an American author, best known for publishing and writing ''The Iron Fey Series'' consisting of 15 books including: ''The Iron King'', ''The Iron Daughter'', ''The Iron Queen'', and ''The Iron Knight''. Biography She was born in Sacramento, California, but moved to Hawaii with her family at the age of nine. Kagawa is of Japanese descent. She currently lives in Louisville, Kentucky.
