Talofofo
Talo'fo'fo, formerly Talofofo, is a village located in the southern part of the United States territory of Guam, on the east coast. The village center is located in the hills above the coast, while the smaller coastal community below the cliff is known as Ipan. The village contains two golf courses. Other tourist attractions include Jeff's Pirate's Cove Restaurant and Museum, Talofofo Caves, Talofofo Falls Resort Park, Ipan Beach Resort and a Talofofo River boat cruise to an ancient Chamorro village. Yokoi's Cave
Yokoi's Cave is the cave on the island of Guam in which Imperial Japanese Army Sergeant Shoichi Yokoi hid until he was discovered in 1972. Yokoi and several companions hid in the area for more than 25 years (since Japan's defeat in the 1944 Battle of Guam), two of them dying in the cave; their remains were found in the cave after Yokoi's surrender. The original cave was destroyed by a typhoon, so a replica was created near the original cave. Shoichi Yokoi
was a sergeant in the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) during the World War II, Second World War, and was one of the last three Japanese holdouts to be found after the end of hostilities in 1945. He was discovered in the jungles of Guam on 24 January 1972, almost 28 years after U.S. forces had regained control of the island in 1944. Ipan
Ipan is a rural beachside community located in the village of Talofofo on the east coast of the United States Territory of Guam. Ipan is a census-designated place in Guam. Ipan contains two beach resorts: Jeff's Pirates Cove and Ipan Beach Resort. Ipan Park is a popular location for family barbecues and parties. After World War II, Camp Dealy was constructed in Ipan and served as a recreational area for military personnel.
