Talitiga Crawley (born 29 August 1991 in Moto'otua) is a Samoan taekwondo practitioner. She competed for Samoa at the 2012 Summer Olympics, having qualified for the competition. ''Taekwondo'', ''Tae Kwon Do'' or ''Taekwon-Do'' (; ko, 태권도/跆拳道 ) is a Korean form of martial arts involving punching and kicking techniques, with emphasis on head-height kicks, spinning jump kicks, and fast kicking techniques. The women's 67 kg competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics was held on 10 August, at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre. Competition format The main bracket consisted of a single elimination tournament, culminating in the gold medal match. Two bronze medals were awarded at the Taekwondo competitions. A repechage was used to determine the bronze medal winners. Every competitor who lost to one of the two finalists competed in the repechage, another single-elimination competition. Each semifinal loser faced the last remaining repechage competitor from the opposite half of the bracket in a bronze medal match. Pacific Games
The Pacific Games (French: Jeux du Pacifique), is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from Oceania. The inaugural Games took place in 1963 in Suva, Fiji, and most recently in 2019 in Apia, Samoa. The Games were called the South Pacific Games from 1963 to 2007. The Pacific Games Council (PGC) organises the Games and oversees the host city's preparations. Athletes with a disability are included as full members of their national teams. Samoa competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This was the nation's eighth appearance at the Olympics, although four other games were first appeared under the name ''Western Samoa''. Samoa Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee Inc. (SASNOC) sent the nation's second-largest delegation to the Games, tying its record for the number of athletes with Los Angeles. A total of 8 athletes, 5 men and 3 women, competed in 6 sports. Two athletes made their second consecutive Olympic appearance, including sprint kayaker Rudolph Berking-Williams. Taekwondo At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Qualification
The Taekwondo competition at the 2012 Games will include 128 athletes, 64 in each gender, 16 in each of the eight weight divisions. Each competing nation will be allowed to enter a maximum of 4 competitors, two of each gender. Each nation will therefore be eligible to compete in a maximum of half the weight categories. 4 places are reserved for Great Britain as Host Country, and a further four shall invitational as decided by the Tripartite Commission. The remaining 120 places shall be allocated through a qualification process, in which athletes win quota places for their respective nation.
