Talieh Kamran
Talieh Kamran (Persian language, Persian: طلیعه کامران; 1930 – March 14, 2017) was an Iranian santur player, painter, poet, and a pioneer of Iranian modern and contemporary art, modern art in Iran. She was known as the "Mother of Traditional Santur Playing in Iran." Kamran played a significant role in the evolution of Iranian classical music and left a lasting legacy through her art and music. Biography Talieh Kamran was born in 1930 in Tehran into an artistic family. Her father was a violinist and a student of :fa: حسینخان اسماعیلزاده, Hossein Khan Esmailzadeh, while her mother was both musically inclined and engaged in painting. During her childhood, Talieh Kamran was taught to play the santur by Habib Samaei, who was a family friend. Behesht-e Zahra
Behesht-e Zahra ( ; ) is the largest cemetery in Iran. Located in the southern part of metropolitan Tehran, it is connected to the city by Tehran Metro Line 1. History In the early 1950s, all the cemeteries in Tehran were supposed to be replaced by several large new ones outside the then precincts of the capital. Behesht-e Zahra was built in late 1960s on the southern side of Tehran towards the direction of the city of Qom and opened on 29 June 1970 by mayor of Tehran, Gholamreza Nikpey. Many of the deceased soldiers of the Iran–Iraq War were buried in the martyrs' section of the cemetery. Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art ( Persian: موزه هنرهای معاصر تهران), also known as TMoCA, is among the largest art museums in Tehran and Iran. It has collections of more than 3,000 items that include 19th and 20th century's world-class European and American paintings, prints, drawings and sculptures. TMoCA also has one of the greatest collections of Iranian modern and contemporary art. Shokouh Riazi
Shokouh Riazi (; 1921–1962) was an Iranian Modernist painter and educator. She was a pioneer of modern art in Iran and is thought to have been the first Iranian woman to study art in Paris. Riazi taught painting classes, and some members of the Saqqakhaneh movement were her students. Biography Shokouh Riazi was born in 1921 in Tehran, Qajar Iran, into a prosperous family. Her mother was Betul Dowlatshahi of the aristocratic Dowlatshahi family, and was the daughter of Qajar prince and Islamic philosopher . Mohammad Ghaffari (; September 29, 1848 — August 18, 1940), better known as Kamal-ol-Molk (), was an Iranian painter and part of the Ghaffari family in Kashan, Qajar Iran. Biography Mohammad Ghaffari, better known as Kamal-ol-Molk, born in Kashan in 1848, to a family with a strong artistic tradition, tracing their origins back to notable painters during the reign of Nader Shah. Darvish Khan
Darvish Khan (, Gholam Hossein Darvish; 1872 – 22 November 1926) was a Persian classical musician and a tar player.http://www.hamshahrionline.ir/news.aspx?id=44944 Biography Darvish Khan was born in Tehran. His teachers included his father and Aqa Hossein-Qoli Farahani. He was a member of the Aziz Soltan music group. Later, he attended the Dar ol-Fonoon Music School. He played a concert at the Grand Hotel of Tehran with other great masters of Persian music of his time, including Aref Qazvini. Darvish left for London and Tbilisi to record. He died at the age of 54, on 22 November 1926, in an accident. His carriage was hit by a lorry automobile which was very rare at that time. It is said that he was the first Iranian to be killed in a car accident.
