Tala is a supervillain in the DC Comics DC universe, universe. She is an evil demonic sorcerer who first appeared as an adversary of the Phantom Stranger. In Hindu temple architecture, ''tala'' is a tier or storey of a ''shikhara'', ''vimana'', or ''gopuram''. It is an important compositional element, which is especially distinct in the Dravidian architecture. Tala is a language from the West Chadian branch of the Chadic language family. The language is spoken in the central regions of Nigeria, and had approximately 1000 native speakers in 1993. The language is unwritten. Classification Tala is part of the Guruntum (Gurdung according to the work of Roger Blench) group of the South Bauchi language group, and is thus similar to the Guruntum, Tala, and Zangwal languages. General Information The Ju language is spoken in the villages of Kuka and Talan Kasa, which lie to the south of Bauchi. The village is in the Bauchi local government area in the state of Bauchi. Tala shares language borders mostly with other West Chadic languages; Zangwal to the west, Ju to the southwest, Guruntum to the southeast, and the Gera language to the north and northeast. Celtis Tala
''Celtis tala'' (or ''Celtis ehrenbergiana''), known as tala, is a medium size deciduous tree, native to tropical and subtropical South America. With small to medium-sized spines, its one of the main components of the Gran Chaco prairies and certain areas of the Argentinian pampa. Morphology The tala is a medium to large sized tree, sometimes reaching 12m high. According to water availability it may become arboreus or shrubby. It prefers dry or slightly moist, well drained soil. When arboreus the trunk is rather tortuous, nearing 40 cm in diameter. When shrubby, it produces several branched trunks of 20 cm in diameter. The tālā is the currency of Samoa. It is divided into 100 ''sene''. The terms ''tālā'' and ''sene'' are cognates of the English words ''dollar'' and '' cent'' in the Samoan language. Its symbol is $, or ''WS$'' to distinguish it from other currencies named ''dollar''. The word 'tala' is also derived from the German word 'Thaler', and pronounced the same. The tālā was introduced on 10 July 1967, following the country's political independence from New Zealand in 1962. Until that time, Samoa had used the pound, with coins from New Zealand and its own banknotes.
