The Taku River (Tlingit language, Lingít: ''T'aaḵu Héeni'') is a river running from British Columbia, Canada, to the northwestern coast of North America, at Juneau, Alaska. The river basin spreads across . The Taku is a very productive salmon river and its drainage basin is primarily wilderness. During the 18th and early 19th centuries, the Taku Indians controlled the trade routes on the river and compelled natives of the British Columbia Interior, Interior to use them as middle-men, instead of allowing trade directly with white settlers. Akwo Tarh Ayuk Taku (born 7 December 1992) is a Cameroonian footballer who plays as a midfielder. Career Taku first arrived in Europe from Cameroon as a 14-year-old, joining an academy in Germany. He then returned to Cameroon to play for Les Astres and Botafogo FC (Douala). During this time he was called up by Cameroon for the 2011 African Nations Championship, where he was the youngest player in the squad. Taku Lee (born February 20, 1995) is a Japanese professional gridiron football running back for the Obic Seagulls of the Japanese X-League. (born October 22, 1973, stylized as Taku Hirano) is a Japanese percussionist and recording artist. He has performed as a solo artist and as one half of the duo Tao Of Sound. He has toured with Fleetwood Mac and Whitney Houston as a percussionist. Biography Takuya "Taku" Hirano was born in Osaka, and grew up in Fresno, California and Hong Kong. He attended Hong Kong International School and graduated from Roosevelt School of the Arts at Theodore Roosevelt High School (Fresno), where he studied orchestral percussion, jazz, Afro-Cuban jazz, and salsa music.
