Rockfield Studios
Rockfield Studios is a residential recording studio located in the Wye Valley just outside the village of Rockfield, Monmouthshire, Wales. It was originally founded in 1963 by brothers Kingsley and Charles Ward. Facilities Rockfield is a two-studio facility consisting of The Coach House and The Quadrangle. Both studios reside within converted solid-stone farm buildings. One of the world's first residential recording studios, Rockfield offers living accommodations for clients recording at the studio for an extended period of time. The Coach House Constructed in 1968, The Coach House includes a large 150-square-metre live area with stone walls, a wooden ceiling, and a Yamaha grand piano. John Halsey (musician)
John Halsey (born 23 February 1945) is a rock drummer, best known for his appearance in the television film ''All You Need is Cash'' (1978) as Barrington Womble ("Barry Wom") of The Rutles. Previous to this he had played with fellow future Rutle Neil Innes's band Fatso and appeared with them in the BBC Television comedy series, ''Rutland Weekend Television'', fronted by a third Rutle, Eric Idle. Halsey was born in Highgate, North London and grew up in North Finchley. He joined the London rhythm and blues band Felder's Orioles in 1965, who released four singles on the Piccadilly Records label. In 1967 he joined Timebox, a band from Southport, who later became Patto. With record producer Muff Winwood they released three albums. The band disbanded in 1973. She played Judith Iscariot in the film ''Monty Python's Life of Brian'' (1979) and was Mayor of Aberystwyth from 2008 to 2009. Billy Bremner (musician)
William Murray Bremner (born 4 August 1946, in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland) is a Scottish guitarist, best known for his work in the band Rockpile and on many of Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds' albums. He has also played with The Pretenders, Shakin' Stevens, Carlene Carter and The Coal Porters, as well as issuing four solo albums. Career overview Bremner first became known playing with The Luvvers, who served as Lulu's backing band. However, by the time Bremner joined the group in 1966, they were on the wane; Bremner did not play on any of Lulu's recorded material, and joined just after the group recorded their only single without Lulu ("The House on the Hill"/"Most Unlovely") for Parlophone in 1966. Neil James Innes (; 9 December 1944 – 29 December 2019) was an English writer, comedian and musician. He first came to prominence in the pioneering comedy rock group Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band and later became a frequent collaborator with the Monty Python troupe on their BBC television series and films, and is often called the "seventh Python" along with performer Carol Cleveland. He co-created the Rutles, a Beatles parody/pastiche project, with Python Eric Idle, and wrote the band's songs. Early life Innes was born in Danbury in Essex. His Scottish father was a warrant officer in the British Army, and Innes spent his childhood in West Germany where his father was deployed with the British Army of the Rhine. The IBC Recording Studios were independent recording studios located at 35 Portland Place in London, England. In the 1960s and 1970s, the studios become internationally famous after being used by recording artists like the Kinks, the Who, Bee Gees, Cream and others. The Innes Book Of Records (album)
''The Innes Book of Records'' is the third solo album by Neil Innes and was released in 1979 to accompany the BBC television series of the same name. The audio recordings on the album are not the same as those used as the audio track for the television series, some of the arrangements being markedly different. Each episode in the series was an anthology of short music videos featuring Innes and other performers. At the beginning of each episode is a short introductory video; one showed a man in a spacesuit exploring a deserted house, finding a record player covered in cobwebs, sitting down and listening to a record, so beginning the first song and its accompanying video. Reviewer Richie Unterberger, of ''Allmusic'', described it as "imbued with the characteristic droll, wry wit and knack for pastiche of all manners of pop music that typify Innes' work", and noted that it veered "more to Ray Davies territory than comedy rock, though Innes isn't at all imitative of the Kin ...
