''Taken Out'' is an Australian television dating game show that was originally broadcast on Network Ten between 1 September 2008 and 26 February 2009. The format was developed by FremantleMedia (now Fremantle) and was hosted by James Kerley. International versions were developed using various titles, starting in 2008 in Denmark as ' (''Today's Man'') and in 2009 in the Netherlands as ''Take Me Out''. This title was also used for United Kingdom, Ireland, the Philippines and the United States versions of the show. A new Australian version of ''Take Me Out'', hosted by comedian Joel Creasey, aired on the Seven Network from 3 September until 27 November 2018. Joel Creasey (born 11 August 1990) is an Australian stand-up comedian, actor, television and radio presenter. Creasey has performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, as well as performing at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2013 and 2014 and the Edinburgh Fringe in 2015. In September 2020, Creasey joined Nova FM's national radio show ''Kate, Tim & Joel'' as a co-host with Kate Ritchie and Tim Blackwell. Early life Creasey was born in the Sydney suburb of Baulkham Hills and moved to Perth at a young age. His father, Terry, worked as a model while his mother, Jenny, was a singer. TV Tonight is an Australian-based website which features reviews, news and programming information related to television in Australia as well as OzTAM ratings information. The site was started by television critic David Knox in 2007 after listeners of his radio programs asked him for information they had missed. Hosted by Jay R, it premiered on April 26, 2010. The show concluded on July 2, 2010. Format The single guy needs to impress thirty single ladies through a series of videos or interviews about him. Each woman has a light which she can turn off if she is unimpressed by the single man. The man's aim is to convince as many women as possible to keep their lights on so that he can then pick, from the women remaining, the one that he wishes to take on a date.
