"Take Me Away" is a song by Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne, taken as a promotional single from her second studio album ''Under My Skin (Avril Lavigne album), Under My Skin'' (2004). It was written by herself and Evan Taubenfeld, whilst production was handled by Don Gilmore. The song has a Metal (genre), metal sound and started playing on Canadian rock radio in March 2004, at around the same time that the album's lead single, "Don't Tell Me (Avril Lavigne song), Don't Tell Me", was being promoted. The song was also included as the A-side and B-side, B-side on the physical release of "Don't Tell Me" in many regions, and re-released digitally as a promotional single from the album on May 24, 2004. In music theory, the key of a piece is the group of pitches, or scale, that forms the basis of a musical composition in Western classical music, jazz music, art music, and pop music. Lauren Christy (born 1968) is a British songwriter and record producer. Originally a solo artist, she found success as part of the writing production trio the Matrix. The Matrix is an American-British songwriting and record production team, consisting of Lauren Christy, Scott Spock, and Graham Edwards.
