''Take It or Leave It'' is a 1981 film about the British ska/pop band Madness. Plot The genre of the film is between documentary, drama and comedy. The film begins in Camden Town, London, on a grey day in January 1976. Three friends, Lee Thompson, Chris Foreman and Mike Barson, start to play music together. Along the way their band suffers numerous arguments and changes in their line-up before finding success in the final scene, with a full piece Madness going out to a packed, screaming arena. Production ''Take It or Leave It'' was directed by the owner of Madness label Stiff Records, Dave Robinson, who also directed the band's music videos. The film's budget was paid by the members of Madness, with £20,000 each (£140,000) and £250,000 by Stiff. Film from the first four days of the shoot was overexposed in the development lab which necessitated reshoots. ''7'' (also known as ''Madness 7'') is the third studio album from the British ska/pop band Madness. Released in October 1981, it reached No. 5 in the UK album chart. All but one track was recorded at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas in the summer of 1981, the exception being " Grey Day" which was recorded in London earlier in the year. Although in 2011 co-producer Alan Winstanley stated in the ''Guided Tour of Madness'' boxed-set that much of the album was re-recorded in London when they returned from Nassau. Track listing There were several different versions of the album released throughout the world. Some territories removed the not so tourist-friendly "Day on the Town" while others replaced it with "Never Ask Twice (a.k.a. Aeroplane/Airplane)", which was issued on the "Shut Up" 12" in the UK. ''Absolutely'' is the second studio album from the British ska band Madness. The album reached number 2 in the UK album charts. Retrieved 19 June 2007. ''Absolutely'' spawned some of the band's biggest hits, most notably "Baggy Trousers", which peaked at number 3 in the UK and spent more than four months in the singles chart. "Embarrassment" reached number 4, and the instrumental "The Return of the Los Palmas 7" climbed to number 7. Although the album reviews were generally less enthusiastic than those of ''One Step Beyond...'', they were mostly positive. In 2009 and 2010, Madness re-released their back-catalogue of studio albums up to and including 1999's '' Wonderful'' with a bonus CD and extra tracks. Dave Robinson (music Executive)
David Robinson, (born 14 May 1944) nicknamed Robbo, is an Irish music executive, music video director, record producer, music manager, and photographer. He is best known as the co-founder with Jake Riviera of Stiff Records where he signed up The Damned, Tracey Ullman, Kirsty MacColl, The Pogues, and Madness. He had also managed Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds and Ian Dury before signing them up to Stiff. Early life Robinson was born in Drumcondra, Dublin. He left Ireland while he was still a teenager and was hired as a photographer at Butlins Bognor Regis. From there he had jobs in London. He started with Rave magazine, where he a photographer.
