Taiwan Independence Revolutionary Armed Force
The Taiwan Independence Revolutionary Armed Force () was a radical Taiwan independence group. It was secretly organized by Su Beng, Zhou Hao, Huang Yuan, and Chou Ching-An, with the aim of assassinating the President of the Republic of China (ROC), Chiang Kai-shek, and seeking an opportunity to overthrow the ROC government that had come to Taiwan from the mainland. The organization was led by Shih Ming and Chou Ching-an, who recruited members in two groups. The first was to collect and hide guns in Shilin, Shuangxi, Jingbiao, and Miaoli in Taipei; the second was to monitor Chiang Kai-shek in and out of his official residence in the Yangmingshan area. Su Beng
Su Beng (9 November 1918 – 20 September 2019; ), born Lîm Tiâu-hui () and later known as Si Tiâu-hui (), was a Taiwanese revolutionary, historian and political activist of Taiwan independence movement. Su Beng was a representative Taiwanese left-wing nationalist in the socialist sense and is considered the 'Taiwan independence Left'; he opposed Japanese and Chinese imperialism. Early years and exile Su Beng was born on 9 November 1918 in Shirin Town, Taihoku Chō, Japanese Taiwan (modern-day Shilin District of Taipei). His birth name was Lîm Tiâu-hui (). Aged 11, he began using his maternal surname Shih (). Miaoli County
Miaoli is a county (Taiwan), county in western Taiwan. Miaoli is bordered by Hsinchu County and Hsinchu City to the north, Taichung to the south, and the Taiwan Strait to the west. The White Terror ( zh, t=, poj=Pe̍h-sek Khióng-pò͘, p=Báisè Kǒngbù) was the political repression of Taiwanese civilians and political dissenters under the government ruled by the Kuomintang (KMT). The period of White Terror is generally considered to have begun when martial law was declared in Taiwan on 19 May 1949, which was enabled by the 1948 Temporary Provisions against the Communist Rebellion, and ended on 21 September 1992 with the repeal of Article 100 of the Criminal Code, allowing for the prosecution of "anti-state" activities. The Temporary Provisions had been repealed a year earlier on 22 April 1991. Martial law had been lifted on 15 July 1987. Yangmingshan
Yangmingshan National Park is one of the nine national parks in Taiwan, located in both Taipei and New Taipei City. The districts that are partially in the park include Taipei's Beitou and Shilin Districts; and New Taipei's Wanli, Jinshan, Sanzhi and Tamsui Districts.
