Goran Marković (film Director)
Goran Marković ( sr-Cyrl, Горан Марковић, ) (born 24 August 1946) is a Serbian film and theatre director, screenwriter, writer, and playwright. He has directed approximately 50 documentaries, 13 feature films, and 3 theatre plays. He has also written five books. Marković is one of the few directors from the former Yugoslavia credited with popularizing Yugoslav films, as well as achieving success domestically and internationally. Career Marković was born in Belgrade to Rade and Olivera Marković, both established Serbian actors. He finished 5th Belgrade Gymnasium prior to attending FAMU at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Bogdan Diklić ( sr-Cyrl, Богдан Диклић; ; born 1 August 1953) is a Serbian actor. He has been active since the late 1970s and starred in over one hundred Yugoslav films and television series. Diklić made ten films with director Goran Marković. In August 2009, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award ''"Pavle Vujisić"'' for his body of work in Yugoslav cinematography. Pula Film Festival () is an annual Croatian film festival, established in 1954. It is held in a Roman amphitheater known as the Pula Arena. Pula Film Festival is the oldest Croatian film festival and is usually held in the summer, in July or August. Apart from film screenings open to the public, the annual Croatian film industry awards are also traditionally presented at the festival. The awards presented at the festival (called Golden Arenas) are the main national film awards in the country, and serve as the Croatian equivalent of the American Academy Awards. Semka Sokolović-Bertok (22 December 1935 – 4 March 2008) was a Bosnian and Croatian actress. She also was a competitive chess player in her youth, winning the Croatian Chess Juniors Championship eight times. Personal life Semka was a descendant of an influential Sokolović family. She was born in Sarajevo, Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Her mother Abida was a seamstress. Sokolović's older sister Badema (1929–1969) was a mezzo-soprano singer. She was married to chess International Master Mario Bertok In March 2008, Sokolović's son Mario Bertok announced her death from internal bleeding following a stroke. She was 72.
