Taiwan Affairs Office
The Taiwan Affairs Office is an administrative agency under the State Council of the People's Republic of China (PRC). It is responsible for cross-strait relations and sets and implements guidelines and policies related to Taiwan, which is claimed by the People's Republic of China as a province of its own.This organization has no relationship with the Taiwan government. Under the "one institution with two names" arrangement, it is also the Chinese Communist Party's Taiwan Work Office under the CCP Central Committee; the party title is used for party-to-party interactions with Taiwan. History In 2007, the Taiwan Affairs Office established the (ATIEM), consisting of Taiwanese businesses operating in Mainland China. Xicheng District, Beijing
Xicheng () is a district of the city of Beijing. Its cover the western half of the old city (largely inside the 2nd Ring Road; the eastern half is Dongcheng District, Beijing, Dongcheng District), and has 1,106,214 inhabitants (2020 Census). The Communist Party of China (CPC), also translated into English as Chinese Communist Party (CCP), is the founding and One-party state, sole ruling party of the People's Republic of China (PRC). Censorship in the People's Republic of China (PRC) is mandated by the country's ruling party, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It is one of the strictest censorship regimes in the world. Taishang () are Taiwanese businesspeople operating in mainland China. The ''tai'' part of the term stands for Taiwan, and the ''shang'' part stands for business or businessperson. There are no official statistics on the number of Taishang working in mainland China. Presidential elections were held in Taiwan on 14 January 2012. The election was held concurrently with 2012 Taiwanese legislative election, legislative elections.
