Taimus Werner-Gibbings
Taimus Werner-Gibbings (born 13 October 1981) is an Australian Labor politician who serves as a member for the Brindabella electorate in the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly. Early life and education Werner-Gibbings was born in the town of Deniliquin in southwestern NSW, and his family moved to Wagga Wagga not long afterwards. In 1988, his family moved to Canberra where Werner-Gibbings attended Weston Primary School, Stromlo High School and Lake Tuggeranong College. A contemporary at Lake Tuggeranong College was Alicia Payne, MP for the Division of Canberra. Werner-Gibbings was awarded an Arts/Law degree from the University of Sydney in 2004. Werner-Gibbings began his career in the Australian Public Service in 2005 in the Department of Transport and Regional Services before moving to the Office of Privacy Commissioner. Shakespeare By The Lakes
Shakespeare by the Lakes is a summer festival of Shakespeare plays performed in Australian Capital Territory (ACT) public parks beside Lake Tuggeranong, Lake Burley Griffin, in Canberra's city centre and next to the Queanbeyan River. Based on New York's Shakespeare in the Park festivals, Shakespeare by the Lakes was conceived and founded by Taimus Werner-Gibbings in 2017. Each year, the hosting theatre company Lakespeare & Co. (formed by Werner-Gibbings and collaborators Duncan Driver, Lexi Sekuless and Paul Leverenz) produces free performances of Shakespearean texts in multiple locations, attracting over 5,000 patrons in each season. The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory, known in short as the ACT Legislative Assembly, is the unicameral legislature of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). It sits in the Legislative Assembly Building, Canberra, Legislative Assembly Building on Civic Square, close to City, Australian Capital Territory, the centre of the city of Canberra. Unlike the legislatures of the other mainland states and territories, the Assembly also has the functions of a local council; the city of Canberra has no other local government. It replaced the Australian Capital Territory House of Assembly, House of Assembly when the ACT was granted self-government in 1986. 2020 Australian Capital Territory Election
The 2020 Australian Capital Territory election was held on 17 October 2020 to elect all 25 members of the unicameral ACT Legislative Assembly. The incumbent Labor-Greens coalition government, led by Chief Minister Andrew Barr, defeated the opposition Liberal Party. On the night of the election Barr claimed victory and confirmed Labor would again seek to enter into an arrangement with the Greens to form government, whilst Liberal leader Alistair Coe conceded the election and acknowledged the party would retain opposition status in the Assembly. The result meant that the Labor Party, which had been in office for 19 years at this election, won a sixth consecutive term of government in the Territory. Type 1 diabetes (T1D), formerly known as juvenile diabetes, is an autoimmune disease that occurs when the body's immune system destroys pancreatic cells (beta cells). In healthy persons, beta cells produce insulin. Insulin is a hormone required by the body to store and convert blood sugar into energy. T1D results in high blood sugar levels in the body prior to treatment. Common symptoms include frequent urination, increased thirst, increased hunger, weight loss, and other complications. Johnathan Reginald Davis (born 1991) is an Australian former politician who served as a member for Brindabella in the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly, having been elected in 2020. He resigned from parliament in 2023 after being referred to police by the ACT Greens due to unsubstantiated allegations he had sexual relations with a teenager. As of June 2025, there is no publicly available evidence of any illegal activity by Davis, and subsequently no record of any charges laid against Davis.
