Taiga Egoshi
is a Japanese professional baseball outfielder for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Nippon Professional Baseball. He has previously played in NPB for the Hanshin Tigers. Early Baseball Career A native of Nagasaki, Taiga started playing softball in 2nd grade all the way to junior high school. He joined Kaisei High School's baseball club but his team never made it to Koshien. Upon entering Komazawa University, he participated in the Tohto University League games as an outfielder, and won the League Best Nine Award thrice. Together with later Tigers teammate Ryutaro Umeno, they played in the 2013 Japan-USA University Baseball Championship, where Japan won the 5-game series 3-2. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered. The outfield positions are 7 (left field), 8 (center field) and 9 (right field). These numbers are shorthand designations useful in baseball scorekeeping and are not necessarily the same as the squad numbers worn on player uniforms. is a Nippon Professional Baseball catcher for the Hanshin Tigers in Japan's Central League. Since joining the Tigers, he was given the nickname "Ume-chan", and his accurate throws and strong throwing arm earned his throw the nickname "Ume-chan bazooka" whenever he catches a runner stealing. (born November 25, 1957) is a retired professional baseball player and manager for the Hanshin Tigers of Nippon Professional Baseball . Okada played, mostly as a second baseman, for the Hanshin Tigers from to , winning the Central League Rookie of the Year in 1980. In 1993, he was traded to the Orix BlueWave. He played there until . is a Japanese Nippon Professional Baseball pitcher for the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan's Central League. Early baseball career A native of Ibaraki, Ishizaki started playing baseball in grade school and continued all the way until he entered Sanwa High School. is a Japanese professional baseball player for the Chiba Lotte Marines of the Nippon Professional Baseball(NPB). He previously played with the Hanshin Tigers. Toritani was one of the most highly coveted position players in years as a senior for Waseda University in 2003. Professional career Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks Otonari was drafted in 2007 and made his first starts late in the year as the Hawks prepared for the playoffs. His first start was an Interleague start against the Hiroshima Toyo Carp and he went seven innings, giving up two runs on seven hits, walking three and striking out four.
