Tai Tong Tsuen
Tai Tong is an area southwest of Shap Pat Heung, in Yuen Long District, in the northwestern part of Hong Kong. Tai Tong Village or Tai Tong Tsuen () is located in the area. Administration Tai Tong Tsuen is a recognized village under the New Territories Small House Policy. Features Tai Tong is famous for its Lychee mountain. Over there, it has been a prime spot for Hong Kong programs set in the olden times. There's also an airsoft site located in the area. Education Tai Tong Tsuen is in Primary One Admission (POA) School Net 73. Antiquities Advisory Board
The Antiquities Advisory Board (AAB) is a statutory body of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region with the responsibility of advising the Antiquities Authority on any matters relating to antiquities and monuments. The AAB was established in 1976 along with the Antiquities and Monuments Office (AMO) when the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance (Cap. 53) was enacted, and comprises members appointed by the Chief Executive. The corresponding governmental ministry is the Development Bureau, and executive support for the AAB is provided by the AMO which is under the Development Bureau. Formation The Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance (Cap. 53) was passed in 1971. However, the Ordinance was not "give life" and the AAB was not constituted until February of 1977. Yeung Ka Tsuen () is a village in Tai Tong, Shap Pat Heung, Yuen Long District, Hong Kong. Education Yeung Ka Tsuen is in Primary One Admission (POA) School Net 73. Within the school net are multiple aided schools (operated independently but funded with government money) and one government school: South Yuen Long Government Primary School (南元朗官立小學). In the summer of 1942, when the Japanese army was reported to have come to raid the area, the guerrillas quickly evacuated with their firearms and hid themselves in the Tanchai Mountain behind Sulu. When the Japanese army failed to find the guerrillas, they took Yang Zhunan away and imprisoned him for more than a month. The Japanese tortured him in an attempt to force him to give up information about the guerrillas. Wong Nai Tun Tsuen () is a small village situated in the area of Shap Pat Heung, located in Tai Tong, which is situated in the south of Yuen Long, in the New Territories in Hong Kong. Administration Wong Nai Tun Tsuen is a recognized village under the New Territories Small House Policy. Features Wong Nai Tun Tsuen is close to the Lychee Mountain, which is situated in Tai Tong. The village comprises the offices for Shap Pat Heung, and also a little restaurant and a main bus stop connecting both sides of Yuen Long. Tai Lam Country Park
Tai Lam Country Park, established on 23 February 1979, is a country park located in Tai Lam, at the south of Yuen Long Town, Kam Tin and Shek Kong and east of Tuen Mun Town, in the western New Territories of Hong Kong. This country park has an area of 54 km². Etymology The country park is named after Tai Lam where the park is located nearby. A river stream also named after the area as Tai Lam Chung (). Due to the construction of a dam, the water flows into the Tai Lam Chung Reservoir. The reservoir is entirely surrounded by the country park. The reservoir is managed by the Water Supplies Department. Tai Lam Tunnel and Tai Lam railway tunnel pass through the country park underground. A village, as well as two prisons: Tai Lam Centre for Women and , all outside the boundary of the country park, are named after Tai Lam. The ''tai'' () in Tai Lam means large. Airsoft
Airsoft is a team game in which participants eliminate opposing players by tagging them out of play with spherical plastic projectiles shot with mock air weapons(usually powered by an electronic motor) called airsoft guns. Although similar to paintball in concept and gameplay, airsoft pellets do not leave visible markings on their target and hits are not always apparent. Though the pellets leave bruises or welts on exposed skin (and so protective gear is recommended), the game relies heavily on an honor system in which players who have been hit are expected to call themselves out. Lychee Mountain
Lychee (US: ; UK: ; ''Litchi chinensis''; ) is a monotypic taxon and the sole member in the genus ''Litchi'' in the soapberry family, ''Sapindaceae''. Small House Policy
The Small House Policy (SHP, ) was introduced in 1972 in Hong Kong. The objective was to improve the then prevailing low standard of housing in the rural areas of the New Territories. The Policy allows an indigenous male villager who is 18 years old and is descended through the male line from a resident in 1898 of a recognized village in the New Territories, an entitlement to one concessionary grant during his lifetime to build one house. The policy has generated debates and calls for amendments to be made.
