Taghazout (Berber languages, Berber: ⵜⴰⵖⴰⵣⵓⵜ, ''Taɣazut''; Arabic: تاغازوت) is a small Berber people, Berber fishing village north of the city of Agadir in southwestern Morocco. The inhabitants are mostly of Berber people, Berber origin. Fishing, tourism, and the production of Argan oil being the main source of income. Surfing In Morocco
Surfing in Morocco forms a part of the country's tourism sector. In the 1960s, European and American expatriates began surfing in Taghazout Bay. Historical records also suggest that American servicemen stationed at Kenitra (formerly Port Lyautey) introduced surfboards to Morocco as early as the early 1960s, particularly at Mehdia Beach. In the decades since, a surf industry has arisen in coastal areas of Morocco such as Agadir and Essaouira. The Moroccan government invested in seaside tourism infrastructure in Taghazhout Bay surf village as part of the 2001 Azur Plan, with the aim of creating 20,000 jobs for local people. Moroccan Arabic ( ), also known as Darija ( or ), is the dialectal, vernacular form or forms of Arabic spoken in Morocco. It is part of the Maghrebi Arabic dialect continuum and as such is mutually intelligible to some extent with Algerian Arabic and to a lesser extent with Tunisian Arabic. Surfing
Surfing is a surface water sport in which an individual, a surfer (or two in tandem surfing), uses a board to ride on the forward section, or face, of a moving wave of water, which usually carries the surfer towards the shore. Argan Oil
Argan oil is a Vegetable fats and oils, plant oil produced from the kernels of the argan tree (''Argania spinosa'' L.), which is indigenous to Morocco and southwestern Algeria. In Morocco, argan oil is used to dip bread at breakfast or to drizzle on couscous or pasta. It is also used for cosmetic purposes. Properties Ninety-nine percent of argan oil consists of triglycerides and related derivatives. These are derived from the following fatty acids: Argan oil has a relative density at ranging from 0.906 to 0.919. Argan oil also contains traces of tocopherols (vitamin E), phenols, carotenes, squalene. Some trace phenols in argan oil include caffeic acid, oleuropein, vanillic acid, tyrosol, catechol, resorcinol, (−)-epicatechin and (+)-catechin.
