Tage Von Gerber
Tage Erland von Gerber (born 8 February 1885 in Sölvesborg, died 9 June 1966) was a Swedish landowner, captain and genealogist. He was the founder of Ointroducerad Adels Förening, the Association of the Unintroduced Nobility of Sweden, in 1911, and the editor of Sveriges ointroducerade adels kalender, the second almanach of unintroduced nobility in Sweden to be published, from 1912 to 1944. Sölvesborg
Sölvesborg (old da, Sølvesborg) is a locality and the seat of Sölvesborg Municipality in Blekinge County, Sweden with 10,024 inhabitants in 2013. Sölvesborg is, despite its small population, for historical reasons normally still referred to as a ''city''. Statistics Sweden, however, only counts localities with more than 10,000 inhabitants as cities. History of the city As the water from the Baltic Ice Lake withdrew, the land around present-day Sölvesborg became accessible to settlers from what today is Denmark. The first people to settle were farmers; remains of their presence have been found in the area dating back to the Stone Age, mostly in the area around Gammalstorp, Siretorp and Istaby. The hill in the east, marking the border towards Karlshamn called Ryssberget, was a direct creation of the glacial movements. The army rank of captain (from the French ) is a commissioned officer rank historically corresponding to the command of a company of soldiers. The rank is also used by some air forces and marine forces. Today, a captain is typically either the commander or second-in-command of a company or artillery battery (or United States Army cavalry troop or Commonwealth squadron). In the Chinese People's Liberation Army, a captain may also command a company, or be the second-in-command of a battalion. Östergötland
Östergötland (; English exonym: East Gothland) is one of the traditional provinces of Sweden (''landskap'' in Swedish) in the south of Sweden. It borders Småland, Västergötland, Närke, Södermanland and the Baltic Sea. In older English literature, the Latinized version ''Ostrogothia'' is also used. The corresponding administrative county, Östergötland County, covers the entire province and parts of neighbouring provinces. Carl Bernadotte
Carl Gustaf Oscar Fredrik Christian, Prince Bernadotte (10 January 1911 – 27 June 2003), originally Prince Carl, Duke of Östergötland, was the youngest child and only son of Prince Carl of Sweden and Princess Ingeborg of Denmark and eventually a prince of the Belgian nobility. To distinguish himself from his father, he was widely known as ''Carl Junior.'' He was the brother of Princess Margaretha of Sweden, Queen Astrid of Belgium and Crown Princess Märtha of Norway. Marriage and loss of status When Prince Carl married Countess Elsa von Rosen (1904–1991), on 6 July 1937 at Kvillinge, Sweden, he had to relinquish his succession rights and his royal titles. She was the daughter of one Count von Rosen and ex-wife of another Count von Rosen. Carl Wilhelm Von Gerber
Carl Wilhelm von Gerber (15 May 1883 – 19 August 1959) was a Swedish diplomat and businessman living and working in Egypt. Career Gerber was born in Sölvesborg, Sweden, the son of the merchant Axel Wilhelm von Gerber and his wife Ida (née Nilsson). His brother, Tage von Gerber, was born two years later, on 8 February 1885. Gerber passed ''studentexamen'' in Kristianstad on 10 June 1902 and graduated with a degree in trade from the Gothenburg Business Institute in 1903. After trade practice in Germany until May 1907, he boarded the SS ''Andros'' (Deutsche Levante Linie) and arrived in Alexandria, Egypt, on 27 May. On Christmas Day 1908, he founded his company in Egypt in the timber trade. On 1 February 1925 he laid the foundation for his palace at the Corniche (Alexandria), Corniche in Alexandria.
