Tae Hyun Bang
Tae Hyun Bang (born April 15, 1983) is a South Korean mixed martial artist who most recently competed in the Lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A professional competitor since 2004, he has also competed for World Victory Road and DEEP in Japan. He is the former DEEP Lightweight Champion. Mixed martial arts career Ultimate Fighting Championship Bang made his promotional debut against Mairbek Taisumov on January 4, 2014, at UFC Fight Night 34. He lost the fight via unanimous decision. The Fifth Republic of Korea () was the government of South Korea from February 1981 to February 1988. The Fifth Republic was established in February 1981 by Chun Doo-hwan, a military colleague of long-time president and dictator Park Chung Hee, after the political instability and military rule in the fourth republic since the assassination of Park in October 1979. The Fifth Republic was ruled by Chun and the Democratic Justice Party as a '' de facto'' dictatorship and one-party state. The Fifth Republic faced growing opposition from the democratization movement of the Gwangju Uprising, and the June Democracy Movement of 1987 resulted in the election of Roh Tae-woo in the December 1987 presidential election. Background The event was the first that the organization hosted in South Korea. A welterweight bout between former WEC and UFC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson and former top contender Thiago Alves was expected to headline the event. However, on November 14, Alves pulled out the bout due to a broken rib and was replaced by Jorge Masvidal, who was originally scheduled to face Dong Hyun Kim. Kim in turn faced Dominic Waters. A featherweight bout between Doo Ho Choi and Sam Sicilia was originally booked for UFC 173 and later UFC Fight Night: Mir vs. Duffee.
