International career Kim played for the South Korea national team as a centre-back or left back, and was a participant in 1998 and 2002 FIFA World Cup. Kim Tae-young (; 13 January 1949 – 26 February 2025) was the 42nd Minister of National Defense and 34th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces. Biography Kim graduated from Kyunggi High School, the most prestigious high school in Korea at the time, in 1968. After failing to be admitted to a university he applied for, he took a year off and was admitted to the Korea Military Academy in 1969. In 1970, he was sent to Heeresoffizierschule II in West Germany as an exchange student. Upon returning to Korea, Kim graduated from the Republic of Korea Military Academy in 1973. Ham Tae-young (; October 22, 1873 – October 24, 1964), sometimes Hahm Tae Young, was a South Korean politician, pastor and leader of the Presbyterian Church of Korea. He was the third Vice President of South Korea from 1952 to 1956. He was also a judge during the Korean Empire and an independence leader during Korea under Japanese rule. He was one of the organizers of the March First Movement. During his tenure as a judge, he reversed the death sentence of the young Syngman Rhee, who became the first president of South Korea four decades later.
