Tabuk Air Base
Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Airport, also known as Tabuk International Airport (; ) is an international and public airport in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Formerly, it was an exclusively military airport until its renovation to become a public airport in 2011. Despite being an international airport, it only serves a few foreign destinations. There are plans to increase the number of international destinations to neighboring countries. The airport has a single terminal building which uses air bridges for planes to disembark and load passengers. The airport was named after the late minister of Defence and crown prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz. Military use King Faisal Air Base (KFAB) of the Royal Saudi Air Force shares the airport site and boundaries but uses a separate runway for operations. Tabuk, Saudi Arabia
Tabuk ( ', ) is the capital city of the Tabuk Province in northwestern Saudi Arabia. It has a population of 594,350 (as of 2022). It is close to the Jordan–Saudi Arabia border and houses the largest air force base in Saudi Arabia. History and prehistory The historical place of Midian roughly corresponds to what is now Tabuk Province, region of Tabuk. Tabuk Castle, known as the castle of ''Midian, Aṣ-ḥāb al-Aykah'' ("Companions of the Wood"), is mentioned in the Quran. The castle dates back to about 3500 BCE and has been restored many times; the last was in 1652. Several forts and stations were built along the Syrian pilgrimage route, from the Jordanian border to Medina to welcome the Hajj, pilgrims. Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport () or Medina Airport is a regional airport in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Opened in 1950, it handles domestic flights, while it has scheduled international services to regional destinations such as Cairo, Dubai, Istanbul and Kuwait City. Medina Airport also handles charter international flights during the Hajj and Umrah seasons. Abha International Airport (, ) is an airport in Abha, the capital of Asir Province in Saudi Arabia. The airport has services to several domestic airports within the Kingdom. It also offers international flights to Aden and Sanaa in Yemen, Cairo in Egypt, Doha in Qatar, and nonstop flights to Dubai and Sharjah in the UAE.
