''T Blockers'' is a 2023 Australian horror film directed by Alice Maio Mackay. The film centres on a young transgender woman in an Australian small town who becomes aware of parasites that are taking over the local men, and forms a vigilante group with her friends to get the problem under control. Plot In the opening narration, a drag queen named Cryptessa (Etcetera Etcetera) tells the audience that the film is a work of fiction, but that it may be "realer than you think." She adds that "every one of us is a survivor in a lifeboat on a dark ocean." It is revealed that this is an excerpt from a lost film named ''Terror from Below'' made by a trans woman named Betty Palmer (Calliope Jackson, voiced by Cassie Workman) who lived in an Australian small town in the 1990s, and later committed suicide. Alice Maio Mackay (born August 4, 2004) is an Australian filmmaker best known for writing and directing the 2023 queer horror films ''T Blockers'' and ''Satranic Panic''. Early life Maio Mackay was born in Adelaide. Career Since 2017, Maio Mackay has produced work under her own company, One Manner Productions. Many of her works are crowdfunded. After directing a string of short films, Maio Mackay's debut feature, ''So Vam'', was released in 2021, followed by ''Bad Girl Boogey'' the next year. Her subsequent two features, ''T Blockers'' and ''Satranic Panic'', premiered in 2023. Maio Mackay's fifth feature film was announced in May 2023.
