TV 2 Nyhetene is Norway's TV 2 Direkte TV 2 Direkte ('' English: TV 2 Live'') is a Norwegian terrestrial television channel. Its headquarters are located in Bergen. TV 2 Direkte (''English language, English: TV 2 Live'') is a Norway, Norwegian terrestrial television channel. Its headquarters are located in Bergen, Norway, Bergen. TV 2 began test broadcasting on 13 November 1991, and a year later, it was officially launched on 5 September 1992, becoming Norway's first commercial free-to-air television channel. In 1992, TV 2 Aksjeselskap, A/S was admitted as full active member of the European Broadcasting Union. As is common with television (and cinema) in Norway, most foreign-language shows and segments of local programmes with foreign language dialogues (e.g. interviews with foreigners) are Subtitle (captioning), subtitled in Norwegian language, Norwegian, not Dubbing (filmmaking), dubbed (with a notable exception being children's programmes). TV 2 Nyheter (''TV 2 News'') is a 24-hour Norwegian language television news channel which started broadcasting on 15 January 2007. It is Norway's first national news network in Norwegian, although Nyhetskanalen did exist from 1997 to 1998. The channel's main newsroom is located in Bergen. History Its breakthrough came at 2pm on 13 January 2007, two days before its planned launch date, when the channel had a breaking news report about the environmental disaster outside Fedje, breaking into broadcast on its sister channel TV 2. During this breaking news broadcast, Lene Østby Sævrøy and Espen Fiveland anchored the broadcast. Terje Svabø and Mah-Rukh Ali lead the first ordinary broadcast on 15 January 2007 at 12 noon. Gullruten ("Golden Screen") is an annual award for the Norway, Norwegian TV industry, founded in 1998 by ''Norske Film- og TV-produsenters forening''. The awarding committee has representatives from the major national TV companies, Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, NRK, TV 2 (Norway), TV 2, TV3 (Viasat), TV3 and TVNorge. Mah-Rukh Ali (Urdu: ماہ رخ علی, born 1 January 1982) is a Norwegian journalist and news anchor. Mah-Rukh Ali was born and raised in Oslo, of Pakistani parents, with three brothers. As a 14-year-old, she wrote the book ''Den sure virkeligheten'' (lit. "The Sour Reality"), released in 1996. The book elaborates on growing up in the west end of Oslo, Norway as a Muslim girl and about feeling Norwegian but being treated differently.
