TV-6 (Russia)
TV-6 () was one of Russia's first commercial television stations that began broadcasting on 1 January 1993 and was closed on 22 January 2002. History 1991-1993 Moscow Independent Broadcasting Corporation (MIBC), a Russian joint-stock company, was established in August 1991. Among its shareholders were Government of Moscow, JSC Logovaz, Mosbiznesbank, OJSC Lukoil, All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, Mosfilm and private persons Eduard Sagalaev, Oleg Orlov and Nugzar Popkhadze. In May 1992, the VHF frequency in Moscow (channel 6) was used to carry CNN International content two hours a day translated to Russian, using an interim license. On 12 November 1992, MIBC won the competition to be allotted the sixth television channel frequency, ahead of the Russian newspaper Argumenty i Fakty and commercial radio station Europa Plus. CCN TV6
The Caribbean Communications Network Television 6 (CCN TV6) is a Trinidadian free-to-air television network. It operates an analog NTSC television system, broadcasting on channels 6 and 18 in the island of Trinidad and channel 19 in Tobago. Its studios are located at 35-37 Independence Square, Port of Spain. History CCN TV6 began broadcasting on 31 August 1991, with viewing hours from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. Before that date, audience choices were limited as the government-owned Trinidad & Tobago Television (ttt) was the only choice. TV6 became the first independently operated television station in the English-speaking Caribbean, broadcasting to over 80% of Trinidad and Tobago’s population. WLUC-TV (channel 6) is a television station licensed to Marquette, Michigan, United States, serving the Central and Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan as an affiliate of NBC and Fox. Owned by Gray Media, the station has studios on US 41/ M-28 in Negaunee Township, and its transmitter is located on South Helen Lake Road in Republic Township southeast of unincorporated Republic. WLUC is relayed on translator station W14EM-D channel 14 (also mapped to virtual channel 6) from the top of the Landmark Inn in Marquette in order to extend its primary signal; the translator is used for areas of Marquette that get a poor reception from the station's main transmitter. TV6 (''Six'') is a Polish free-to-air television channel originally owned by Polskie Media. Since 1 January 2014, Telewizja Polsat is a direct broadcaster of TV6, as well as its sister channel TV4. It was launched on 30 May 2011. On 30 April 2013, TV6 gained a new graphic design and a new visual identity. On 1 January 2014, Telewizja Polsat acquired Polskie Media, the owner of TV4 and TV6. On 3 August 2023, TV6 changed its logo for the first time. The motto of channel is "Włącz Szóstkę" which means "Turn on Six". TV6 (Télévision 6) was a French private and free national television channel dedicated to music and youth, created on March 1, 1986. Following the 1986 French legislative election, the new opposition government reallocated its slot to M6 (TV channel), M6, leading to its shutdown exactly a year later on February 28, 1987, becoming the first French national television channel to permanently cease broadcasting (five years before La Cinq).
