TV-3 (also known as TV-3 Russia) is a Russian television channel focused on entertainment. It mainly broadcasts TV series in mystery, science fiction and fantasy genres. It was purchased in 2006 by Vladimir Potanin's ProfMedia (''ПрофМедиа''), which in turn was purchased by the Russian natural gas giant Gazprom and placed in its Gazprom Media division in December 2013. TV3 Latvia () is a Latvian Commercial broadcasting, commercial television channel targeted at a Latvian language audience owned by TV3 Group (Baltics), All Media Baltics, a company owned by investment firm Providence Equity Partners. History TV3 was launched in 19 September 1998 replacing 31. Kanāls, but did not receive a terrestrial license until 2001. TV3 is a commercial television channel targeted at an Estonian language audience owned by Providence Equity Partners. History It was founded in 1996 after two recently established television stations, EVTV and RTV, were merged. TV3 has two sister channels. TV6 is a television channel targeted at entertainment television channel in Estonia, launched in 2002. TV8 is an entertainment television channel, launched as a digital sister channel to TV3 in 2009. TV3 was a television channel in Slovenia owned by Modern Times Group (MTG). The channel was eventually suspended on 1 November 2004, but it were later relaunched on 1 October 2006. On 3 June 2008, TV3 began broadcasting in Slovenian digital terrestrial television network and it was disconnected on 1 September 2008. History The station began as TV3 on 24 December 1995. Majority ownership was originally held by the Roman Catholic Church, and much of the initial programming was faith-oriented. TV3 encountered poor ratings and financial losses from its outset. TV3 (Norway)
TV3 Norway is a commercial television channel targeting Norway owned by Viaplay Group. It was separated from the earlier Pan-Scandinavian version in 1990. Unlike its main rivals, NRK, TV 2 and TVNorge, the channel does not broadcast from Norway but from West Drayton, Middlesex in the United Kingdom, even if the channel is almost solely aimed at Norwegian viewers. This excludes the channel from the strict rules in Norway that apply to advertising (ban on advertisements aimed at children or interrupting programs). Also unlike the other main channels, it wasn't available on analogue terrestrial, having to rely on satellite and cable television for its distribution. TV3 (Viasat)
Viasat is a satellite and pay television brand, founded in Sweden in 1991. Viasat has previously been owned by Modern Times Group (MTG). The channels of both companies were broadcast from London. In 2018, MTG sourced out the television/streaming division, forming three companies: Viaplay Group (serving Nordic countries), Viasat World (international and Ukraine) and Viasat Russia (Russia and CIS). In 2020, Viaplay Group formed a joint venture with Canal Digital to form the company Allente, that offers satellite television services in the Nordic countries. The merger was completed on April 13, 2021.
