TrueType Fonts
TrueType is an outline font standard developed by Apple in the late 1980s as a competitor to Adobe's Type 1 fonts used in PostScript. It has become the most common format for fonts on the classic Mac OS, macOS, and Microsoft Windows operating systems. The primary strength of TrueType was originally that it offered font developers a high degree of control over precisely how their fonts are displayed, right down to particular pixels, at various font sizes. With widely varying rendering technologies in use today, pixel-level control is no longer certain in a TrueType font. History ''TrueType'' was known during its development stage, first by the codename "Bass" and later on by the codename "Royal". The system was developed and eventually released as TrueType with the launch of Mac System 7 in May 1991. The initial TrueType outline fonts, four-weight families of ''Times Roman'', ''Helvetica'', ''Courier'', and the pi font "Symbol" replicated the original PostScript fonts of the App ... Both Luxembourg and Ireland have already introduced such structures, formally known as the Fond commun de placement (FCP) and the Common contractual fund (CCF). Title Transfer Facility
The Title Transfer Facility, more commonly known as TTF, is a virtual trading point for natural gas in the Netherlands. This trading point provides facility for a number of traders in Netherlands to trade futures, physical and exchange trades. Set up by Gasunie in 2003, it is almost identical to the National Balancing Point (NBP) in the United Kingdom and allows gas to be traded within the Dutch Gas network. The TTF is operated by an independent subsidiary of Gasunie, Gasunie Transport Services B.V., which is the Gas Transmission System Operator in the Netherlands. Wholesale gas trading at the TTF is predominantly conducted over-the-counter via interdealer brokers. Physical short-term gas and gas futures contracts are also traded and handled by the ICE-Endex Exchange (Amsterdam) and via the PEGAS exchange. Gas at TTF trades in euros per megawatt hour. In the two decades since its inception trades at the TTF have grown exponentially and exceeded domestic volumes in the Netherl ... Tetrathiafulvalene
Tetrathiafulvalene is an organosulfur compound with the formula (. Studies on this heterocyclic compound contributed to the development of molecular electronics. TTF is related to the hydrocarbon fulvalene, , by replacement of four CH groups with sulfur atoms. Over 10,000 scientific publications discuss TTF and its derivatives. Preparation The high level of interest in TTFs has spawned the development of many syntheses of TTF and its analogues. Most preparations entail the coupling of cyclic building blocks such as 1,3-dithiole-2-thion or the related 1,3-dithiole-2-ones. For TTF itself, the synthesis begins with the trithiocarbonate , which is S-methylated and then reduced to give , which is treated as follows: :H2C2S2CH(SCH3) + HBF4 -> 2C2S2CH+F4- + HSCH3 :2 2C2S2CH+F4- + 2 Et3N -> (H2C2S2C)2 + 2 Et3NHBF4 Redox properties Bulk TTF itself has unremarkable electrical properties. Distinctive properties are, however, associated with salts of its oxidized derivatives, ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
