The United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) is a major command of the United States Army headquartered at Fort Eustis, Virginia. It is charged with overseeing training of Army forces and the development of operational doctrine. TRADOC operates 37 schools and centers at 27 different locations. TRADOC schools conduct 1,304 courses and 108 language courses. The 1,304 courses include 516,000 seats (resident, on-site and distributed learning) for 443,231 soldiers; 36,145 other-service personnel; 8,314 international soldiers; and 28,310 civilians. The commanding general of United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (CG TRADOC) is the head of United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). They head approximately 27,000 soldiers and 11,000 civilians who work at 21 installations across the continental United States. As commander, one of their main duties is to study a number of ideas and initiatives as outlined in previous TRADOC Campaign Plans and create a plan of action for the future. Fort Monroe, Virginia
Fort Monroe is a former military installation in Hampton, Virginia, at Old Point Comfort, the southern tip of the Virginia Peninsula, United States. It is currently managed by partnership between the Fort Monroe Authority for the Commonwealth of Virginia, the National Park Service, and the city of Hampton as the Fort Monroe National Monument. Officer Candidate School (United States Army)
The United States Army's Officer Candidate School (OCS) is an officer training program that trains, assesses, and evaluates potential commissioned officers of the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, and Army National Guard. Officer Candidates are former enlisted members (E-4 to E-8), Warrant Officers, inter-service transfers, or civilian college graduates who have enlisted as an "09S" to attend OCS after they have completed Basic Combat Training (BCT). While the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School is located at Fort Benning, Georgia there are other OCS programs for members of the Army Reserve and National Guard. William Depuy
William Eugene DePuy (1 October 1919 – 9 September 1992) was a United States Army general and the first commander of the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command. He is widely regarded as one of the principal architects of the restructuring of United States Army doctrine after the American withdrawal from Vietnam. Early life and World War II DePuy was born in Jamestown, North Dakota. He was of French Huguenot and Scotch-Irish descent via Canada. His military career began when he enlisted in the South Dakota National Guard, eventually becoming a squad leader.
