TOPS Knives, Inc. is a tactical knife manufacturer located in Eastern Idaho, United States. The company was established in December, 1988 and is owned by Michael J. Fuller and operated by President Leo Espinoza. The company primarily produces fixed-blade knives for military and law enforcement. History TOPS Knives was created in December 1998. Several old friends from the Vietnam War era developed a concept based on their experience and disappointment with the knives they were issued during the war, and they sought to correct these issues of strength and durability. TOPS has manufactured their knives in the United States, specifically in Idaho since they were founded. TOPS Knives was founded by veterans and supports the Wounded Warrior Project and other charitable organizations. Michael Jon Hand
Michael Jon Hand (born 8 December 1941, New York City) is a US ex- Green Beret known for co-founding the Nugan Hand Bank. He has more recently been the owner of TOPS Knives. Career Hand grew up in New York City, where he attended De Witt Clinton High School. After graduation, he attended Syracuse University, completing a year long course in the State Ranger School. In May 1963, Hand enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in the Army Special Forces ("Green Berets"). After Special Forces training at Fort Bragg, Hand was posted to Vietnam, where he received a Purple Heart, a Silver Star, and the Distinguished Service Cross, the second highest military award in the United States. He received this for his actions on 9 June 1965 in defending the Special Forces camp at Dong Xoai against a Viet Cong attack during the Battle of Dong Xoai. Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is an American charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following September 11, 2001. It operates as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. As of August 22, 2021, WWP served 157,975, registered alumni and 40,520 registered family support members. The organization has partnered with several other charities, including the American Red Cross, Resounding Joy, a music therapy group in California, and Operation Homefront. WWP has also previously provided a year-long Track program, which helped veterans transition to college and the workplace. Tom Brown Jr. (born January 29, 1950) is an American naturalist, tracker, survivalist, and author from New Jersey, where he runs the Tom Brown Jr. Tracker School.
