TNT I
''TNT'', also referred to as ''TNT I'', is the debut album by the eponymous Brazilian rock band TNT, their first of two self-titled albums. It was released in 1987 through RCA Records, and is considered a cornerstone of the Rio Grande do Sul rock scene from the mid-1980s/early 1990s. A critical and commercial success, it spawned a handful of hits, such as "Entra Nessa", "Estou na Mão", "Ana Banana" and "Identidade Zero" (all of them co-written by former vocalist Flávio Basso, prior to his departure from the band), which catapulted the group into nationwide fame and paved their way for a second release one year later. The album's cover art was allegedly inspired by New Order's 1983 release ''Power, Corruption & Lies''. Covers "Entra Nessa" was covered by former vocalist Flávio Basso's subsequent project, Os Cascavelletes, around the same time the album was released, on their first demo tape ''Vórtex Demo ''Vórtex Demo'' is the first demo tape released by Brazilian rock b ...

TNT II
''TNT'', also referred to as ''TNT II'', is the second self-titled studio album by the Brazilian rock band TNT, released in 1988 by RCA Records. Their last release with original drummer Felipe Jotz, it sees the band shifting away from their previous "juvenile" rockabilly sound towards a more "mature" direction influenced by pop rock, a trend which would culminate in their subsequent release, 1991's '' Noite Vem, Noite Vai''. "A Irmã do Dr. Robert" was the album's greatest hit, and led TNT to play at the popular TV show '' Globo de Ouro'' in 1988. The album's opening track, "Não Vai Mais Sorrir (Pra Mim)", counts with a guest appearance by famous musician Lulu Santos. Track listing Personnel * Charles Master – vocals, bass guitar * Márcio Petracco – electric guitar, pedal steel guitar, dobro, banjo * Luís Henrique "Tchê" Gomes – electric guitar * Felipe Jotz – drums * Lulu Santos Lulu Santos, stage name of Luiz Maurício Pragana dos Santos (born May 4, 1953), is ...

TNT (Brazilian Band)
TNT was a Brazilian rock group from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. One of the first rock bands from Rio Grande do Sul to acquire mainstream success nationwide alongside its "sister project" Os Cascavelletes, they are known for hits such as "Entra Nessa", "Estou na Mão", "Ana Banana", "Cachorro Louco" and "A Irmã do Dr. Robert". History TNT was formed in Porto Alegre in 1984, by childhood friends Flávio Basso, Charles Master, Felipe Jotz and Marcio Petracco. Petracco, however, left them soon after and was replaced by Nei Van Soria. They came to public knowledge in 1985, after taking part in RCA Records' compilation ''Rock Grande do Sul'', made to promote rock bands from Rio Grande do Sul such as Engenheiros do Hawaii, Os Replicantes, DeFalla and Garotos da Rua. One year after the compilation's release, citing creative divergences with RCA, Basso and Van Soria left TNT to form their own project, Os Cascavelletes. In 1987 Petracco returned to the band, and alongside new gu ...

New Order (band)
New Order are an English rock band formed in 1980 by vocalist and guitarist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook and drummer Stephen Morris. The members regrouped after the demise of their previous band Joy Division due to the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis. They were joined by Gillian Gilbert on keyboards later that year. New Order's integration of post-punk with electronic and dance music made them one of the most acclaimed and influential bands of the 1980s. They were the flagship band for Manchester-based independent record label Factory Records and its nightclub The Haçienda, and they worked in long-term collaboration with graphic designer Peter Saville. While the band's early years were overshadowed by the legacy of Joy Division, their experience of the early 1980s New York club scene saw them increasingly incorporate dance rhythms and electronic instrumentation into their work. Their 1983 hit " Blue Monday" became the best-selling 12-inch single of all t ...

Vórtex Demo
''Vórtex Demo'' is the first demo tape released by Brazilian rock band Os Cascavelletes in 1987. It would attain them a massive reputation in the underground Rio Grande do Sul rock scene, and highly sexually explicit tracks such as "Estupro com Carinho", "Banana Split", "A Última Virgem" and "Morte por Tesão" became staples of their self-proclaimed style, " porno rock". Even though the tape doesn't have an official name printed on its cover, it is commonly referred to as "Vórtex Demo" after the studio in which it was recorded, the Estúdio Vórtex, which was owned by the members of yet another influential rock band from Rio Grande do Sul, Os Replicantes. "Pombo Surfista" is a Portuguese-language version of The Trashmen's "Surfin' Bird". "Entra Nessa" was originally written by vocalist Flávio Basso for his former project TNT. A handful of tracks from the demo would be re-recorded for the band's subsequent releases, the 1988 EP ''Os Cascavelletes'' and the 1989 full-length ' ...

Demo (music)
A demo (shortened from "demonstration") is a song or group of songs typically recorded for limited circulation or for reference use, rather than for general public release. A demo is a way for a musician to approximate their ideas in a fixed format, such as cassette tape, compact disc, or digital audio files, and to thereby pass along those ideas to record labels, producers, or other artists. Musicians often use demos as quick sketches to share with bandmates or arrangers, or simply for personal reference during the songwriting process; in other cases, a songwriter might make a demo to send to artists in hopes of having the song professionally recorded, or a publisher may need a simple recording for publishing or copyright purposes. Background Demos are typically recorded on relatively crude equipment such as "boom box" cassette recorders, small four- or eight-track machines, or on personal computers with audio recording software. Songwriters' and publishers' demos are rec ...

Os Cascavelletes
Os Cascavelletes were a Brazilian rock group from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. One of the first rock bands from Rio Grande do Sul to acquire mainstream success nationwide alongside its "sister project" TNT, they were characterized by their irreverent style inspired by 1950s-era rockabilly culture and acts such as The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, and by their comical, profanity- and sex-laden lyrics (in a musical style self-described as " porno rock"). Some of their most famous compositions are "Sob um Céu de Blues", "Menstruada", "Estou Amando uma Mulher", "Eu Quis Comer Você" and the 1989 hit "Nêga Bombom". According to founding members Flávio Basso and Nei Van Soria, the band's name is a portmanteau of the words "cascavel" ("rattlesnake" in Portuguese) and "Marvelettes", in a reference to the eponymous American girl group popular in the mid-1960s. History In 1986, Flávio Basso and Nei Van Soria parted ways with their former project TNT, citing creative diverg ...

Power, Corruption & Lies
''Power, Corruption & Lies'' is the second studio album by English rock band New Order, released on 2 May 1983 by Factory Records. The album features more electronic tracks than their 1981 debut '' Movement'', with heavier use of synthesizers. The album was met with widespread acclaim, and has been included in music industry lists of the greatest albums of the 1980s and of all time. The cover artwork was by Peter Saville, and in 2010 it was one of ten classic album covers from British artists commemorated on a UK postage stamp issued by the Royal Mail. Artwork Peter Saville's design for the album had a colour-based code to represent the band's name and the title of the album, but they were not actually written on the original UK sleeve itself (they were present on some non-UK versions), although the catalogue number "FACT 75" does appear on the top-right corner. The decoder for the code was featured prominently on the back cover of the album and can also be seen on the " Bl ...

Rock And Roll
Rock and roll (often written as rock & roll, rock 'n' roll, or rock 'n roll) is a genre of popular music that evolved in the United States during the late 1940s and early 1950s. It originated from African-American music such as jazz, rhythm and blues, boogie woogie, gospel music, gospel, as well as country music. While rock and roll's formative elements can be heard in blues records from the 1920s and in country records of the 1930s,Peterson, Richard A. ''Creating Country Music: Fabricating Authenticity'' (1999), p. 9, . the genre did not acquire its name until 1954. According to journalist Greg Kot, "rock and roll" refers to a style of popular music originating in the United States in the 1950s. By the mid-1960s, rock and roll had developed into "the more encompassing international style known as rock music, though the latter also continued to be known in many circles as rock and roll."Kot, Greg"Rock and roll", in the ''Encyclopædia Britannica'', published Encyclopædia Brita ...
