Tridentine Mass
The Tridentine Mass, also known as the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite or ''usus antiquior'' (), Vetus Ordo or the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) or the Traditional Rite, is the liturgy in the Roman Missal of the Catholic Church codified in 1570 and published thereafter with amendments up to 1962. Celebrated almost exclusively in Ecclesiastical Latin, it was the most widely used Eucharistic liturgy in the world from its issuance in 1570 until its replacement by the Mass of Paul VI promulgated in 1969 (with the revised Roman Missal appearing in 1970.) "Tridentine" is derived from the Latin ''Tridentinus'', "related to the city of Trent", where the Council of Trent was held at the height of the Counter-Reformation. In response to a decision of that council, Pope Pius V promulgated the 1570 Roman Missal, making it mandatory throughout the Latin Church, except in places and religious orders with rites or uses from before 1370. Permissions for celebrating the Tridentine Mass ...

Télé Lyon Métropole
Télé Lyon Métropole was a private local TV channel in the greater Lyon area. History Télé Lyon Métropole (TLM) was launched on 25 November 1988 by Roger Caille, director of Jet Services, in the Tour du Crédit Lyonnais. Programming took place at 21 Boulevard Yves Farge in Lyon on 20 February 1989. TLM is the oldest local TV channel in France France, officially the French Republic, is a country located primarily in Western Europe. Overseas France, Its overseas regions and territories include French Guiana in South America, Saint Pierre and Miquelon in the Atlantic Ocean#North Atlan .... On 10 October 2018, Altice acquired the channel, announcing its integration into the BFM network. On 1 July 2019, it was announced that the channel would shut down and be replaced by BFM Lyon, part of the BFM Locales network. Temporal Light Modulation
In visual perception, flicker is a human-visible change in luminance of an illuminated surface or light source which can be due to fluctuations of the light source itself, or due to external causes such as due to rapid fluctuations in the voltage of the power supply ( power-line flicker) or incompatibility with an external dimmer. Twinkling, also called scintillation, is a generic term for variations in apparent brightness, colour, or position of a distant luminous object viewed through a medium. Flicker exists for other organisms having different perceptual thresholds. Light meters and image sensors can potentially detect flicker at much higher frequency bands than human vision. Shutter speeds used in motion photography can interact with high frequency flicker to produce visual artifacts in the captured imagery that betray flicker that would not otherwise be noted. The spectral sensitivity of the human eye to flicker depends upon the mode of visual perception. Due to the flicke ...

The Leprosy Mission
The Leprosy Mission is an international and inter-denominational Christian NGO, the largest and oldest organisation working in the fight against leprosy. Founded as the Mission to Lepers, it has the goal of zero leprosy transmission by 2035. As well as working towards zero leprosy transmission, The Leprosy Mission is committed to achieving zero disabilities as a consequence of leprosy and zero leprosy discrimination.  History In 2024, Leprosy Mission marked 150 years of fighting leprosy. Its beginning marked by from the time that Wellesley Bailey and his wife Alice began regular meetings in Dublin to tell friends about their experiences of people affected by leprosy in India, and to raise money'. Bailey, a Christian from Ireland, had been working as a teacher in the Punjab in India. During this time he had come across a row of huts inhabited by men and women with serious disabilities and physical deformities. His friend Dr Morrison, a leader of the American Presbyterian Missio ...

Thetis Lake Monster
The Thetis Lake Monster is a legendary creature and admitted hoax of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. In 1972, two teenage boys claimed to see a monster emerge from Thetis Lake beach. The description of the creature that the teenagers gave matched the description of the Gill-man from the 1954 film ''Creature from the Black Lagoon''. History On 22 August 1972, the ''Victoria Daily Times'' reported that two local teen boys claimed to have seen a creature with "silvery scaled skin, sharp claws, and spikes on its head" while swimming at Thetis Lake beach in the evening. The newspaper reports described the creature as roughly resembling the Gill-man from the ''Creature from the Black Lagoon''. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigated, but could find no evidence. Two other boys fishing on the opposite shore of the lake claimed to have also seen the monster. However, when writer Daniel Loxton contacted one of the individuals years later, he admitted they had fabricated the story ...

Transaction-level Modeling
Transaction-level modeling (TLM) is an approach to modelling complex digital systems by using electronic design automation software. TLM language (TLML) is a hardware description language, usually, written in C++ and based on SystemC library. TLMLs are used for modelling where details of communication among modules are separated from the details of the implementation of functional units or of the communication architecture. It's used for modelling of systems that involve complex data communication mechanisms. Components such as buses or FIFOs are modeled as channels, and are presented to modules using SystemC interface classes. Transaction requests take place by calling interface functions of these channel models, which encapsulate low-level details of the information exchange. At the transaction level, the emphasis is more on the functionality of the data transfers – what data are transferred to and from what locations – and less on their actual implementation, that is, on th ...

Transmission-line Matrix Method
The transmission-line matrix (TLM) method is a space and time discretising method for computation of electromagnetic fields. It is based on the analogy between the electromagnetic field and a mesh of transmission lines. The TLM method allows the computation of complex three-dimensional electromagnetic structures and has proven to be one of the most powerful time-domain methods along with the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. The TLM was first explored by British electrical engineer Raymond Beurle while working at English Electric Valve Company in Chelmsford. After he had been appointed professor of electrical engineering at the University of Nottingham in 1963 he jointly authored an article, "Numerical solution of 2-dimensional scattering problems using a transmission-line matrix", with Peter B. Johns in 1971. Basic principle The TLM method is based on Huygens' model of wave propagation and scattering and the analogy between field propagation and transmission lin ...

Transmission Line Measurement
The Transfer Length Method or the "Transmission Line Model" (both abbreviated as TLM) is a technique used in semiconductor physics and engineering to determine the contact resistance, specific contact resistivity between a metal and a semiconductor. TLM has been developed because with the ongoing device shrinkage in microelectronics the relative contribution of the contact resistance at metal-semiconductor interfaces in a device could not be neglected any more and an accurate measurement method for determining the specific contact resistivity was required. General description The goal of the transfer length method (TLM) is the determination of the specific contact resistivity \rho_C of a metal-semiconductor junction. To create a metal-semiconductor junction a metal film is deposited on the surface of a semiconductor substrate. The TLM is usually used to determine the specific contact resistivity when the metal-semiconductor junction shows ohmic contact, ohmic behaviour. In this case ...
